Sun City Hotel Haikou

We arrived Haikou airport in the mid morning and was greeted by Family friends of my in-laws who brought us to our first hotel for the trip. This hotel is very well located in Haikou City. It is walking distance to sights such as the Qilou Old Street, Zhongshan Road. There is a mall right opposite with eateries and covinience stores all around within walking distance. Hailing a cab off the street is also easy. Rooms wise, its quite good for the price with large king beds; fridge; TV with local channels. Room has climate control, though in december, just need to open the windows for nice cool air. Not sure if the hotel has breakfast options, but there is a fairly popular Dim Sum restaurant on the 5th floor at reasonable price and good variety. Just find a table, take an order chit and head to the counter where all the food is. Pick what you want and the waitress at the counter will write what you have chosen on the chit. After you are done, go to the counter and pay. There are a lot of food options for all meals around the hotel. We went to Qilou Snack street which is about 10mins walk for one of our breakfast where beed noodle; porridge and Dim Sum is available. There isnt a gym or fitness center. I beleive there used to me one as signs in the hotel indicate there was one but it has since been transformed into a baby spa. Service wise, it was great. Staff also helped us to keep our luggage at the store when we headed to Sanya and Qionghai for a few days. Staff were always helpful when we needed to get a cab. Check in and check out were brisk and easy. Overall, nice hotel and great location.
