I stayed there last week for a night. This hotel has just been rebranded to Mercure. The location is central to everything and next to the Beijing road, and also next to a metro station that took me from the hotel to the airport conveniently. Check in was smooth but required us to snap a picture for their records (I guess it is the customary practice in China). The lobby area was somewhat small, so they can get really crowded at certain times. This room itself was very modern with comfortable bed and pillows. Bathroom had the latest technology of toilet. The right water pressure and hot water shower was appreciated after a long day walk. I did not choose to have breakfast at the property. This place is definitely a steal for those who like to be in the middle of every shops and local eateries. I will definitely stay here again next time I come to Guangzhou.
