It billed as a 4 stars hotel, but the service only deserve two. Thir best daily rate they offered was 340 RMB per night, which is way higher than surrouding similiar hotels. The hotel is outdated, and free wifi only available in the coffee shop, which the staff do not allow you to use unless you purchase something. There are smokers everywhere.The included breakfast is dreadful, all the food are cold. The room is old, and the hot water supply was not working, but they send for repairment immediately after I raise the issue, so it was OK.
However, the location of this hotel is excellent,and the hotel has many guests despite all the shortcomings.It is located next to the airport express station, and it is on the main street (FIVE ONE AVENUE), it is assessible to major shopping centres, all kinds of restaurants,and bus stop just few meters from the hotel, and from there you can go anywhere in Fuzhou for RMB$1 per ride. 
The health centre is great, and the sauna and the hot spring is surprisingly good. The staffs does not speak good English, but they try hard to help with issues of sightseeing and dining.

Location, Location, Location

The Apollo Hotel has reemerged as the JinYi Hotel - I suspect a name change only to sidestep the disaster spoken off in the last few reviews.
The rooms and facilities are a delight - the large bathroom is great with two showers and a bath. No doubt this is where the Apollo's 4 star rating came from.
The problem is the total lack of English ability of reception, duty manager, dining room staff and even, in desperation, the cleaner! When I wanted to book a room, 4 giggling 20-25 year olds did not even try to serve me, they just played with piles of VIP cards. Luckily a Chinese guest who spoke English worked it out for me. Forget asking for special requests. Don't they learn English in school from the 3rd grade? And pass exams?
So then the room was great, including superfast (for China) internet. A comfortable bed, not Chinese hard, not Western soft
Breakfast time was a disaster. Had to ask a guest where the dining room was because the reception counter was besieged by 30 gesticulating and shouting Chinese (normal for a hotel at 8am in China). Found the dining room and it looked like a cyclone had hit it. I've seen this before when Chinese bus group tours hit a dining room. We could not find a clean table so we stepped over the food on the floor and cleaned one up ourselves. The only western food was bread and a toaster but there was no bread. After several requests for mianbao it arrived. Oh and there was drip filter coffee. Would you like it cold, colder or coldest? Repeated requests including from a Chinese guest failed to make new coffee materialise. The staff just don't care; maybe they aren't getting paid. In the end I was offered a jug of lukewarm water by a cleaner. Ha ha ha ha.
My Thai girlfriend said the dining room and food made her feel sick and she was worried about the total lack of apparent hygiene. They will cook noodles for you street style - in a hotel dining room!
One staffmember wished us goodbye zai jian as we left. I'm glad it wasn't xia ci jian because we won't even be back to the dining room and hopefully the hotel for any reason.
Such a waste of good rooms.

Foreigners should avoid - 1 star service, 4 star room

As per previous review the entire foyer is full of people dosing down on camp beds protesting at the owner who has apparently disappeared with their money! Coupled with that they have strapped a loud  hailer to the front door turned up full volume with their protest message on a loop not great!
The hotel is quite dark and gloomy in the common parts
The room I stayed was OK and just about reasonable value for money, I was going to judge it clean until I found a big clump of hair on the carpet in the morning which the vacuum cleaner had obviously been unable to pick-up.
One positive was there was no noise from other rooms or the corridor etc - however this was possibly because occupancy levels were so low due to the current problems with the hotels' management.
The thought of breakfast was appealing  - until you follow the signs and have a look a the restaurant from the outside. Best bet is to walk down the escalators that are not working and go outside to the nice coffee shop you should see  - one block to the right.

The Only Positive - Right Next to the Bus Stop for the Airport Shuttle Bus

Staff were also quite good and helpful. I experienced good WiFi in the room

OK - where to start with this! - Perhaps Avoid

It is supposed to be a 4 stars hotel. Sorry, but I think it's lower than 3 stars. 
We waited for 3 people check in, 30 minutes. Despite there were 5 reception workers. 
In addition lot of people in the lobby, even sleeping. They were demonstrators asking the hotel owner some money return because they had been cheated in some kind of investment

I think a pair of stars have fallen

This is a horrible hotel. Staff at reception is very blur . And don't know anything. The breakfast offered is very unhygienic , and the staff serving was digging his nose and rolling its contents in his hands. Totally put me off.
