I can highly recommend the Golden Hotel in Fuzhou. The rooms are extremely comfortable and clean and cost about fifty American dollars a night (318 RMB). You can get rooms for a bit cheaper (288 RMB), but the upgrade is absolutely worth the 30 extra RMB or about five American dollars. You get a great bath with a pleasant surprise for couples. The food is strictly Chinese, but there are many Western places to eat within a two dollar American taxi ride (14 RMB) that are close by. The view is very nice and the rooms are very quiet. All are internet ready and there is a nice work space if you need it. Excellent value for fifty American dollars.
