Venice Jianguo Hotel Dandong

The hotel is right next to the Yalu River. It is more like a resort. There is a bridge connecting downtown area and the island where the hotel is located. Phoenix Island Hotel in Sanya of Hainan Province and Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai use the same way as well. The hotel has a garden with beautiful flowers and trees where you may take a walk in the morning. There is a golden lion sculpture which looks like the one in Venetian Resort Macau in the lobby. The lights are special and bright. The entire design of corridor and room is modern, with some Italian scenery paintings hung on the walls. The beds are soft and comfortable. We could view the Yalu River from the room windows. However, the night view of Dandong City is just so-so. Unlike the ones with exciting nightlife in southern China, many cities in northeast China look desolate and bleak after 6 pm. Postcards are put in the drawer. You don't have to buy one if you like to send a postcard back home or to friends for memory when travelling. The washbasin is too small, comparing to such a big room. The guide told us the water coming from the bathtub was hot spring water. It would help you release the tiredness. I tried and water was hot whose temperature could reach 40+ degrees centigrade. Personally speaking, I might not consider this as a serious shortcoming that there are no walls but only ground glass to separate the bathroom and bedroom.But if one person stands close to the bathtub, actually the other person in the bedroom could see him/her. Thanks that it is still blurred enough, haha!
