Dalian Gap Year Youth Hostel

Nevermind the 'youth' in the name, at age 47 I was welcomed just fine (though yes, everybody else there was indeed young). There was a problem with my booking (I had booked through a hostelling website), and the staff was unable to find my reservation, but they were able to accomodate me at the expected rate. I stayed in a four-bed female dorm room which had a bathroom attached. Western toilet with the usual toss your tp into the bin. The hostel was clean and the staff friendly. The location isn't the best - it's not near any of the sights. BUT, the buses are very near - the bus to get to many buses was right across the street. Apparently there is a university nearby, which means loads of tasty, cheap street food was available right around the corner. The distance from tourist destinations is the only thing keeping this from a 5 rating from me.
