Firstly, DON'T trust the other two reviews! I don't know why they complain there is damp smell but it's actually the nice of wooden decoration inside the room! The hotel is designed beautifully, u will be attracted when u walk into it. Rooms r not so big but comfortable, the decoration is kind of Japanese simple style and the bed is SOOOO enjoyable, we had our best sleep here. Furthermore, the hotel is right at the entrance of west gate, very convenient to connect to taxi to other places of attractions. It is also close to Foreigners street. about the breakfast, for a small hotel, it is good enough, and I believe most people will choose to eat outside, and the No.1 rated bakery shop is only 20 meters away!! 

Perfect hotel in general 

Nice hotel in good location, let down by service and damp rooms. 

Was given a room at the back of hotel at around 3pm and it seemed good. When we got back at 8pm the room smelled damp & the bed sheets felt damp. Did not want my 1 year old to sleep in a damp room. Complained to reception and after 30 minutes arguing with the girl on reception and seen three other rooms we found the only ones not damp were on the first floor. The receptionist wanted to charge extra for one of these room, but we refused point blank. We eventually got the room for the same price. Service really needs looking at if this hotel is going to get better reviews

Otherwise the hotel has a nice design & atmosphere. All the rooms are furnished to the highest specification. 

The wifi can be connected to in most places & is free, but it's connection to the outside world is patchy & goes off often, but this might not be the hotels fault. 

Each room has some form of iPhone speakers, but some of these have the older iPhone 4 connections so cannot be used by iPhone5+ phones as a charging point. However the 2 we used were Bluetooth enabled. That said there is one wall outlet point with USB, but again this seemed to be patchy as it charge overnight but is not charging as I type this in the morning, which is strange!!

Breakfast consisted of either cold fried egg, beacon, beans and toast (not sure how they fried the egg & it still be cold), Chines dumpling or noodles. Muesli and hot milk were also available. Coffee was from little sachets, but these included sugar so if you don't like your coffee sweetened its tuff.

If you don't like the breakfast there is a McDonalds about 200 m away on the same street. Plus there are a few cafes and 2 good cake shops on the same street within a short walk

Ground floor rooms damp, poor service

The hotel is perfectly located on the main street of the old Dali. The decoration is quite modern, in a Zen style. The room is nice, well decorated and confortable.Wifi is very good. The big issue of the hotel is the service: the breakfast is not acceptable and the second day you move to the bakery 88, right next door ! You should ask for a room on the back of the hotel: the other rooms are very noisy at night time.
