Not sure if we were upgraded or not, but we did have a large spacious room. The bathroom was also large, but please note that the bathtub is tiny, and a grown man could only sit in it. We did have problems with our toilet, but once reported, it was fixed very promptly, which was impressive. The breakfast area and selection of food were large, although there was not much in the way of Western options. For example, this was the first hotel during our stay in China that did not offer bacon. This was surprising given that we saw more Westerners in this hotel than any other. The hotel is also in a good location within walking distance of the city centre.
