I have stayed here 3 times. In dorm room and double room with wife. Friendly clean and helpful staff. Walk many restaurants and close to metro. Have beer Lao. Was a bonus. I would suggest this place to everyone. Best Dan Dan mien noodle shop nearby

Great location and price

We enjoyed the stay here very much - the twin room was very cozy and looked nice, the shower was good, the room is spacious and there is enough light in it. The staff was very helpful and kind and helped us with everything we needed and even was ready to adapt the breakfast to our needs :) 

Very nice place 

I'll start with the positives... clean room and comfy beds with very helpful and friendly staff. 

In terms of negatives, we felt we were over sold. The room was tiny for a standard double which made it very difficult to organise but not a huge problem. Bar looked nothing like the pictures and drinks weren't served. Same for food, despite menus being left out, they didn't have a chef - at least it forced us to be more adventurous! Movie night as advertised was non existent and the basement floor recreation room was damp and dark - made it impossible to play pool.


Average but slightly oversold 

I booked the standard double room for two nights. Unfortunately the room (304) was a bit worn down and the bathroom extremely smelly. Luckily I could change the room and got the Deluxe Double room (306) which was great. And it's just 2€ more expensive, so next time I would book this one. 
Furthermore, location is good and staff is helpful. No breakfast was offered but which was posted at the bar so a bit strange but overall the staying was ok.

Do not book Standard Double room!!

The beds were comfortable, location is amazing, and the room was clean. But that's about it. We wanted to have breakfast for two days in a row, and "the chef wasn't there". I asked reception when he would be there and the guy said he didn't know. So get ready to go breakfast hunting. Our TV remote didn't work at first and it took three visits to reception to fix the problem.  The morning we were supposed to leave there was no one in the reception. We rang the bell and still no one appeared. We were lucky a local was able to call the guy who was clearly sleeping (we needed to have our deposit back before we left).

Overall, if you don't plan on eating on site and speaking to staff, stay here by all means. Otherwise, you can find something better.

The Nova Traveller's Lodge is a really nice and quiet hostel in Chengdu, well-located with all needed facilities

Very good stay

It's a very dirty place, nothing to do with the photographs.The rooms are very small, there's not even room to leave the suitcases.There are only Chinese tourists, the rooms have no private bathroom but only two common bathrooms.One of the receptionists is very unpleasant.

No vayan

We stayed at the Nova Travellers Lodge n made side trips to emeishan and then jiuzhaigou huanglong to return again here.. They let u keep your luggage at the hostel fr three days after check out so we didn't have to lug our huge suitcases everywhere.. Great common area.. We stayed in the private room.. Very very small.. Huge bed but if u open a suitcase on the floor then there is no place to open the door.. But still great value fr money

Great value fr money.. 

Perfect for travelers for two days or a week, great service, smiling staff who speak English, clean and close to the subway, just a little hard to find the first time around.

That's perfect.

I had booked through Hostelworld a bed room in room 6. They showed me the room and the situation was this: barely enough room for 3 people, personal effects closet in the hallway, bathroom and shower on the other side of the common area. Hygiene not at the top of the form. I checked on Booking and found out that the hostel had a double room with room with room with room with room with room with room. That said, exchange and payment of the difference instantly. That said, friendly staff, fast and efficient. I spoke mainly with one girl, but I'm at least three English speaking. Very kind in giving help and advice for public transport, places of interest and travel. I recommend this hostel, but in a single room with private bathroom.
