Atour Hotel Beijing Capital International Airport

After more than a week in China Celebrating Chinese New Year, we found ourselves in Beijing with a 12 hour late night lay over. We chose this hotel for two reasons, price and proximity to the Beijing Airport. First I must suggest that when arranging for transportation, only negotiate with the uniformed licensed airport taxi service. You will get harassed and over charged by the independent taxi drivers. The FX Hotel Beijing Airport is quite close to the airport. Only 3 Miles or or 5 kilometers away. The Hotel staff were polite and pleasant. We had advance reservations and they had us checked in and in our rooms within 20 minutes of our arrival. The rooms were clean and comfortable. No- Frills and no surprises. My wife, daughter and I were pleasantly surprised with how comfortable the beds were. I believe this hotel is were many of the airline employees stay during layovers. Just so you know, we travel all over the world. We have stayed in the most exclusive properties in Dubai, Singapore, Munich, St. Barts and Mexico just to name a few. Do not expect an upscale hotel. You can expect a safe, comfortable quiet stay that is an excellent value. The only reason I gave this property a 4 out of 5 is the shower water was warm at best. It is possible that they ran out of hot water as we were the last guest to leave on our floor. Happy Travels!
