Beijing Jinlongtan Hotel

I stayed in this hotel, room 1226, for 3 nights. I was quickly checked in and in my room. The lifts are operated using the room key. The wifi worked well in my room but not outside such as in the restaurant or lobby. The room was very comfortable. It comprised a large TV, coffee/tea/kettle, room safe, bottled water, desk, comfortable chair. No ironing board or iron but there was one in the laundry, next to the gym on the 4th floor. The laundry room included several machines that could be used by hotel guests. The large bed was firm. Storage space was limited and open to view. The air conditioning was quiet and worked efficiently. The room also was quiet and two double glazed windows ensured the room was quiet from the busy roads outside. The bathroom had little bottles for shampoo, body wash and conditioner. There was a small body lotion container and paper tissues. Towels were soft and replaced daily. Water was always hot and plentiful. The shower was separate from the WC. According to a rule established in 2020 during the pandemic, Beijing does not allow the supply of toothbrushes, combs, razers, etc in hotel rooms. Perversely, there were packets of toothbrushes/paste outside the lifts on each floor. The gym opened at 0600 and I was the only user at that time. I had breakfast (open 0630-0930) which was buffet style and had a wide range of Chinese dishes with some western dishes. Surprisingly, there were no yoghurts. I ate once in the restaurant on the 2nd floor (counting the ground floor as floor 1), by myself. The menu is in Chinese and English, with photos of the dishes. I used my Vasco Translator and this worked well, enabling me to have conversation with the waiters and waitresses which they very much appreciated. I particularly liked the Yanjing beer.
