Hosteria Mirador del Paine

My husband and I stayed here for four nights and could have stayed another four. Upon driving up to the estancia, our jaws dropped at the beauty of the place - and we were stunned to find out that our room faced out onto the view. The photos they have on their profile don’t do it justice. We’ll be lucky if we ever stay in a spot as beautiful again! Having spent three days in the park (about 1- 1.5 hours away) and seen some of the other accommodations, I’m so glad we went with this place because it is way less touristy and gives you a feel for the real Patagonia. We did a day hike into the park just a few steps from their dining room and barely saw a soul on the 13.5 mile round trip to and from the stunning Mirador del Torro- in stark contrast to the hundreds of tourists we hiked with along a segment of the W. We much preferred the latter. One important note: Make sure to fill up your gas tank and buy an extra can to fill up if you plan to drive into the park more than once. Also: Their dinner (which is really your only option out there) feels a little overpriced until you realize what it takes to haul it out there, so we were happy to pay. Out of our three weeks in Chile, this will easily stand out as the highlight. Gracias a Felipe y Camilla!
