It was fantastic from beginning to end. The best part was the staff, always smiling and friendly. They really went the extra mile when my transpirt didnt show up and they did everything to get me to the airport.

Extremely awesome hostel! The staff is fantastic, the price is best in San Pedro, and the Hostel is very very clean! When I needed recommendations, the staff never hesitated to give them. Their tours are competitively priced with any company in town as well! The hostel was able to hook me up with transportation to my early morning flight departure from Calama. And when I forgot my trekking shoes under my bed, they were able to help! They mailed them to a location within 5 minute walk from my next hostel in a timely fashion, providing me with all the information I needed to pick them up! If you choose any hostel in San Pedro, choose Pangea Norte!!!

We had an excellent stay at Pangea North. This is in a dusty town but manages to stay reasonably clean! 

The room was large and spacious and the beds were really comfortable and cosy. The kitchen was kept really clean and had everything that you needed. The showers were lovely and hot (although could have done with having a few more toilets). They were cleaned regularly, the kitchen was cleaned constantly

Great location, you can walk everywhere. They were helpful with tour advise. Close to a mini market that accepts card which is rare in San Pedro! We had the best WiFi here! 

Would stay again.

Our stay at Pangea Norte was a great one! our double room was super clean, the shower had amazing amazing pressure and super got water!

The shared kitchen was one of the best we have seen 2 stove tops and ovens (such a great to be able to use an oven!) and anything you could possibly want or need to fix yourself an awesome dinner - and it was kept immaculately clean the entire time.

The staff are great really lovely (special mention to Super Santiago) who let us in and out at ridiculous hours of the morning when we went out star gazing - gracias Santiago we hope you get some sleep now we are not there :)

My stay at Pangea Norte could not have been better. I got into trouble for losing money and credit cards in Calama and they were extremely helpful. Beds are comfy, WiFi worked well, bathroom cleanliness was ok. A few more power sockets inside the room would be better. Special thanks to Leandro from the from desk, that guy was beyond helpful. Ive never had such attention from staff members as I had from Leandro at Pangea Norte, since the moment I checked in until I left. Thanks for everything, bro. You're are awesome!

Everything we needed 

Amazing Kitchen, Great Staff

Nice place, awesome staff!

I had one of the worst lodging experiences of my life in the Pagea Norte Hostel. This hostel is not well prepared to receive guests. Here is a list of the problems I had there:

Problem 1: A few weeks before my trip to São Pedro, my girlfriend received an email from the hostel stating that, due to a problem in the Hotels.com system, the room she had reserved had changed from a double bed room to a room with 2 single beds. we could not agree with this change since we were traveling together and had paid for a double bed room. After exchanging several emails with the hostel she was able to get the room we had originally reserved, but not for our first night there. So, we stayed in a cheaper room in our first night even though we paid for the better one.

Problem 2: We had planned to pay the hostel in US dollars as their page on Hotels.com says it is possible. once we got there we were informed they only accepted Pesos Chilenos. We had to go and exchange our dollars, paying a worst exchange rate then we would have paid in Santiago.

Problem 3: On our first night at the hostel, we got bit by bed bugs! I woke up with marks all over my body and itching a lot. Since we were changing rooms for our second night, we just informed the hostel what happened and suggested they cleaned the room. After they checked the room, their response was that they had not seen any bugs. They simply ignored the fact that the bed bugs are really small and stay hidden inside mattresses and cracks on walls or ceiling.

On our second night, even after changing rooms, more bed bug bites! We complained again with the hostel staff but they took no action. They only suggested we could go to a different room, with single beds and no bathroom, without mentioning any financial compensation.

For our third night, we bought anti allergic drugs and insect repellent. It made our night better but we spent quite a lot of money. So, we suggested the hostel should pay for the repellents, which they agreed to. However, we kept being bitten night after night.

Problem 4: When we got home, we had to wash all our clothes and luggage in hot water to kill bed bugs that might had entered in our luggage. Not only that, my girlfriend had so many bites in her body that a couple of days later, she developed a rare allergic reaction. She had to go to a doctor have the bites examined. The doctor prescribed a lot of drugs to help alleviate the itching and contain the allergic reaction. Of course all those drugs were not cheap!

She informed the hostel about the situation and sent them the doctor's prescription, photos of the bites and the receipt for the drugs. She asked to be reimbursed for these expenses. It was the least they could do after all the bad experiences we had. Not only they refused to reimburse the expenses, they started ignoring her messages and then stopped replying her emails.

Based on all this, I suggest that you don't stay in the Pangea Norte hostel! In my situation, the few bucks I saved on booking this hostel cost a lot more money and headaches at the end.
