The host of Hostal Viento Norte is a very kind and helpful woman that has lots of recommendations and advice for the huge amount of tours available in San Pedro. I took her advice and had a great time. The hostel is small but cozy, I had a great stay.

Wonderful host and feels like a home

We had to book a place last minute because our first hostel was full when we wanted to extend our stay a night. Internet was out the whole time we were there and while it might not have been the hostel's fault, they made no effort to fix the problem or apologize for it. The location could not be better although it does get loud at night.

Only ok and the internet did not work

Overcharged us by quite a lot, but
the woman did not speak any English so couldn't argue. The room we stayed in was basically a shed at the back of the property, no heating at all and located next door to a very loud bar. WiFi did not work the majority of the time, and when it did only in the space by the front door. Was centrally located and had hot water. 

Find somewhere else

The good:
-Friendly host, though she does not speak English
-It's mainly a laundry service, which is handy for travellers (but not handy enough, see below)
-Location is excellent, but SPDA is a small town, so most places are in good spots.

The bad:
-Bed sheets were dirty. Like 'crusty' dirty. Gross.
-Shower was either freezing cold of scalding hot. Mainly the latter.
-Rooms are tiny. I mean tiny.
-Ridiculously expensive for what it was.

Friendly, but tiny and dirty

Hostal Viento Norte is a disgrace, we booked to stay here for one night via Booking.Com and upon arrival (at midday) the proprietor told us that she has given away our room as these guests wanted to stay longer and she was now fully booked so we would have to look elsewhere. We have filed a complaint with Booking.Com. This proprietor is only after money - stay away!!!
