Not sure why previous reviews or why no reviews at all but this hostel/ hotel is perfect for any backpacker. For an expensive area the price is good value. We had a nice room with no bathroom but they have just renovated half of the hostel so the kitchen and bathrooms are brand new. They are lovely and the kitchen has all new stuff to use. The owner is lovely and willing to help with everything. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

All citizens of Chile, regardless of the duration of their stay, and all foreigners who stay in the country for at least 60 consecutive days may have to pay the national sales tax (19%) when checking out. To receive tax exemption, foreign citizens must pay for their stay upon entry in foreign currency (not Chilean pesos) or with a credit card issued abroad and present a valid passport along with the migration card they received upon entry into the country. If a person subject to paying the tax and another exempt from the same share a room, the rate may be applied to the entire room.
