Todos los ciudadanos de Chile, independientemente de la duración de su estadía, y todos los extranjeros que permanezcan en el país al menos 60 días consecutivos pueden tener que pagar el impuesto nacional sobre las ventas (19 %) al registrar la salida. Para obtener una exención de impuestos, los ciudadanos extranjeros deben, al ingresar, pagar su estadía en moneda extranjera (no en pesos chilenos) y presentar un pasaporte válido junto con la tarjeta de migración que recibieron al entrar en el país. Si una persona sujeta al pago del impuesto y otra exenta de este comparten habitación, la tarifa podrá aplicarse a toda la habitación. Based on local tax laws, Chilean citizens (and foreigners staying more than 59 days in Chile) must pay an additional fee of 19%. Please note that for tax exemption travelers must pay in US dollars and have to present the migration card they are given when they arrive to the country.
