Gran Hotel Germania

Very comfortable, bright (lots of windows downstairs), open airy feeling, clean carpets and polished floors, great typical german attention to the details with good wifi coverage overall, the staff was friendly and some people spoke both Spanish and English. A couple of movie channels in English.We found our room to be clean and fresh. Covered driveway parking and modern upgrades throughout. Fast elevator. Modern and well-maintained bathroom fixtures. We stayed there for several days and were comfortable. Showers were hot at any time, 7-minute walk to downtown where rooms go for two times the price. The owner a German man was on premises much of the time and my interaction with him and the staff left me feeling appreciated and valued. He also owns a seafood restaurant on the way to downtown. As a guest of the hotel over several days, we were comped a pisco sour with my meal. I had a plate of about 8-10 kinds of deliciously prepared seafood dishes which was like trying everything on the menu. Great value for the money. Oh, and we had a car and left our keys with the front desk, they were happy to reserve parking and move vehicles as needed. The car was under a modern covered carport and in view through the large lobby windows by staff, right outside. Pretty convenient. Also, I felt pretty secure and realized that even though we had left some things unlocked in the car overnights, there was no problem or concern. One way in and out, through the lobby and the front desk attendant, was there even into the late night, unlike other hotels
