The cabañas are in a relatively large compound with lots of shade and privacy from the surrounding town. The couple that manage the property are extremely friendly and the whole atmosphere is fairly sedate this time of year (first week of December). I imagine it gets a bit more hectic in January and February. We travel with this crazy dog we adopted in Santiago, and she had the best time of all, running around the compound and playing non-stop with one of the resident dogs. It is a very dog-friendly place, which we really appreciated. The cabañas are clean and well maintained, and it is right across the street from the south end of the Pichidangui beach. The beach consists of a wide stretch of fine-grained, firmly packed sand, excellent for walking or running, and it stretches a several kilometers northward in a gently arc. Because it is situated in a semi-enclosed bay, the surf along the southern half of the beach is very gentle -- not your typical Pacific coastline. On the whole it is quite scenic, even if the weather is foggy or cloudy. Highly recommended.
