The Hotel Casas Santo Domingo is a hacienda from the early 1900s. The owner, Hernan, is a very kind and helpful gentleman. Don't be put off by the earthquake damage in the area and at the entrance. This is a geat place to stay if you have a car. We enjoyed our large room in the hacienda, and my husband loved learning about the construction details of the house. Hernan was helpful in many ways including dining choices, where to go to exchange USD to pesos, and in talking to locals in the Valle Secreto about land. The hacienda is also convenient for exploring the northeast portion of the Colchagua wine region.
