Everything you want from a hostel, cozy spaces, nice people, and a great kitchen. Seriously, tons of spices, pots and pans that look like they haven't been used for science experiments, and even an oven that works. You can catch a bus or colectivo down Errazuriz. Just get off by the park, the first stop after the road starts to curve. From there it's two or three blocks down calle buenos aries. Thanks Hostel Vermont!

Very nice old wooden house (like most houses in Osorno).  Very cozy.  Staff were amazing (volunteer Stephanie, Sylvia, and the owner (she has a beautiful greek name that I can't recall right now]) were all so friendly and treated us just like family after only 2 days.

Good wifi access all through the house.  Rooms were clean, warm, and the bathroom was also very clean.

Just a few blocks from the supermarket if you want to cook for yourself, or 10-15 minute walk/5 minute cab ride to downtown.

The garden is a great place to spend the afternoon reading or napping.

There´s not enough bathrooms, you might have to wait quite a while in the morning when everyone wants to take a shower.
They have lockers, but the boards separating the boxes are not secure. In fact, they´re loose and have no screws or nails at all. So these lockers are actually useless...
As long as you don´t look under your bed, the hostel seems to be quite clean.
I don´t mind that they hava a dog running around, even in the kitchen, but I do mind that the dog gets to sit on the sofa. So if you use the sofa, you´ll be covered in white hair. At check in they make you sign a paper saying that you´ll have to treat the animals with respect (maybe someone kicked the dog off the sofa before...?).
Average breakfast.
What is weird is that everywhere there´s signs saying "do this, don´t do that, ...".
Yes, it´s far from the bus station an the centre, but you should know that when booking so there´s no point in complaining about the location. There´s quite a few supermarkets and the "recinto sago" nearby.
But after all it´s not been a bad hostel. Beds are comfortable, the kitchen is clean, the internet is surprisingly fast and the prices are moderate. I´d stay here again.

Average hostel - nothing special, but I´d return

Hostel Vermont is about 10 blocks from the bus terminal and in the opposite direction from town.  There are tons of hostels much closer to everything that are nicer and less expensive.  Our room was alright and the bed was comfortable but the linens and blanket were filthy.  We also had a cat attempting to enter the window the entire night.  The woman overseeing the house was very nice but in the evening had her very rambunctious children over and a dog who took up the couch and would not stop barking.  Next time we will look into hostel Bilbao or something between town and the bus station.

Would not stay here again.

We spent a night there and, although the people there were nice, the booking.com despcription of the double room (the only double room they have) was misleading, because they offer it with internal shower and it does not have anything internal. Also, our kids froze in the room provided. Deceiving...
