The owner of the property is lovely and very obliging. You need google Translate if you speak no Spanish as he speaks no English. 
There is lovely outside space with tables and chairs. 
However the rooms, in particular the bathroom, are filthy. There was a problem with the hot water - none to the sink at all and it was sporadic to the shower - sometimes hot, sometimes cold. 
It is a shame because with a good clean and some minor repairs (our bathroom had no handle on the inside of the door, paint flaking in places etc) it would be adequate. Compared to other similar properties we have stayed in this was not good value for money.

Lovely owner but dirty rooms

Hostalnde has twenty rooms, located a few minutes from the bus station, a double room for 30,000 pesos per night, clean room, private toilet, short breakfast, friendly hostel.

The hostel has a very good location, close to the centre and the bus terminal, but one can note the unconcern about the rooms and the restricted hours they have, considering that it is tourists who stay in this hostel.

We arrived at the Serena terminal and it was the owner of the hostel with its billboard and photos of the place, the night we earned $25,000 with private bathroom and no breakfast. The hostel has a kitchen (taxes, services, tea, coffee, sugar) where you can prepare breakfast and a refrigerator to store things. The hostel is very quiet, the parts are simple and clean, in my case it was a wedding bed, TV with cable and bathroom. It has no wifi but that's the least. There is no time restriction. It is close to the center (3 blocks), the stadium the front door, the terminal and the supermarket. Recommended!

Cozy, calm and clean.

I don't like the worry about the housing...in a week of staying there, no cleaning, no changing saunas, no cleaning of the bathroom, and no different toiletries, like comfort, and soap...the only rescueable is the location.

 Despreoccupation

In the end, we didn't stay in this residence because the data provided by tripadvisor was wrong, we selected this residence because it had private parking, we booked but when we got there the owner told us no, that they didn't have private parking being that on their page if it came out. he told me that it has already happened that he has informed them to take that information from their page and they haven't. he also says that you can pay with a red card or credit card which is also fake. well nothing to say about the residence, but from the page. update the data and improve the filters please. so that these problems don't happen just on such chaotic dates and in cities visited as serene.

TRIPADVISOR SE EQUIVOCO is also used.

This place was alright for the price we paid. It lacked hot water and the "curfew" is kind of early but the rooms aren't overly dirty and we got a room for two with private bathroom for 25 Lucas in the summer. Also it is about a half hour walk to the beach, 5-10 minutes to bus station and same to the plaza de armas.
Overall it's good value and decent location.

Decent for the price

As tourists went out to see what the night was like on the Serena arriving in the morning, we realized that it was three doors and we had only two keys... We stayed outside and we had to ring the bell, the gentleman Jofré opened us up criticizing the arrivals as if it were a regiment with time to arrive, and it seemed to me that a hostel should be clear that one of its rooms is locked, and we were treated with disrespect.

No vayan, Mala atención seems to be a regiment.

This place is located centrally, and not super far from the beach, maybe 30 minutes. The owner is the kindest person and very efficient. The roooms are clean, there is hot water. Good value for the room and very close to the bus stop. They also provide you with breakfast.

Good Value

Good location, only 10 or 15 minute walk to main bus terminal and Plaza de Armas. Maybe 45 minutes to the beach.

Nice owner/manager, good breakfast (I don't think it's available with all rates), and convenient kitchen. Internet very fast but WiFi went out of service each morning I was there though I could attach my laptop to ethernet cable in reception.

I would have rated it higher if there was consistent hot water. I think I had hot water only time during the three days there.

My single ensuite booking had two twin beds, so I don't think there is any difference from a double.
