We took a chance by the outside which is not a good way to judge a hotel. We had room 3 in the front with great views of the lake and volcano. The room had a warm comforter and comfortable bed. That is it. The bathroom was very tiny and you had to go up stairs to get to it. To reach the upstairs one has to traverse a  very tiny spiral staircase.  The breakfast was not much better. Will not return.

Rooms in front with views

A comfortable stay directly on the lake with incredible views of the volcano that dominates this part of Chile. The Hotel am See reminded me of guest houses in Germany. Rooms are a little tired and could do with a revamp but they are comfortable and clean. 

A good selection of Chilean wine is available for purchase at reasonable prices from the restaurant so grab a bottle and sip some fine wine while observing the incredible site of the volcano looming large on the other side of the lake.

Breakfast is typical for south America (i.e. nothing to get too excited about).

The views from here are superb - recommended!

Superb views!

Recommended for a short stay, lake front, friendly staff, clean, well located.  The view to the lake and volcano Osorno were perfect!  The breakfast was good but could be better.  WiFi was included but did not work most of the while in the property.

They call themselves a german hotel. Yes, the prices here are really like in Germany. The view - the best of Chilie. The service - definitely not Europe and even not latin america. 

Nice view, the rest is very average

My worst hotel experience in Chile in 6 weeks. The hotel is in a prime location, facing the lake and volcano, however my room was at the back facing the parking so did not benefit from the view. Room is basic and old, ceiling light did not work and I was told the electrician did not come to fix it. Only had dry bread and tea for breakfast as I do not eat dairy nor pork which is basically what was on offer. When I asked if I could have an egg instead, was told I would have to pay extra for it. Very poor value hotel. I suppose if one had a room with a view, it might compensate for the its poor quality and unfriendly staff.
