Hostal Cruz del Valle

I needed a place to crash for a couple of nights while investigating an opportunity in the area. A friend told me about Hostal Cruz del Valle Santa Cruz and got my reservation. No complaints at all. My Spanish isn't so good and the hostess that greeted me spoke even less English, so we started off with a little communication challenge. But she was sweet, kind and patient as we worked our way through things. The room was so comfortable that it could be considered a hotel. There's no kitchenette, but they would probably let you use the kitchen if you needed to. The room had a comfortable bed with immaculate sheets and a comfortable feel. A small desk and a wardrobe were there as well. And I had a private bathroom. Some of the signage is in English, offering a little more convenience. Security was great. There is gated parking, but only room for about three or four cars inside. They lock it up at night or when they leave. All the staff was super friendly. One of them spoke some English. Otherwise, we worked through it with the help of Google Translate. The location is a little odd at first, since it's down a narrow (almost alley) road. But if you've been there once, then it's unimportant. It's close to the city square and in a comfortable enough neighborhood. Remember, it's a hostal, not the Ritz. For me it was just a place to crash. But, for a hostal, I found it to be at the top of the scale.
