150 reviewsWith all the boutique hotels in Valparaiso we couldn't have done better than this. It is a lovely small guesthouse on Cerro Alegre. Great high ceilinged rooms looking out over the patio and yard (open for guests) filled with fruit trees and with excellent views of the port. Quiet and really comfortable. Original and period decor make it even more special. The owner/host is extremely helpful. It's an easy walk down to restaurants and bars.

All citizens of Chile, regardless of the duration of their stay, and all foreigners who stay in the country for at least 60 consecutive days may have to pay the national sales tax (19%) when checking out. To receive tax exemption, foreign citizens must pay for their stay upon entry in foreign currency (not Chilean pesos) or with a credit card issued abroad and present a valid passport along with the migration card they received upon entry into the country. If a person subject to paying the tax and another exempt from the same share a room, the rate may be applied to the entire room. Based on local tax laws, Chilean citizens (and foreigners staying more than 59 days in Chile) must pay an additional fee of 19%. Please note that for tax exemption foreign travellers must pay in US dollars and have to present the migration card they are given when they arrive to the country. Foreign business travellers, who require a printed invoice, will also be charged the additional 19% regardless of the length of their stay in Chile. This fee is not automatically calculated in the total costs for the reservation. |
