62 reviewsI used to live in Santiago. After visiting Valpo and staying in Hostal Barrio Paraiso I regret that life choice. People go to Santiago because there's money and jobs there. In Valpo they might be pobre but they are felices; poor but happy. This hostal is cozy, friendly, clean, comfy beds, and abundant good vibes from the very nice lady (Christina?) who works the front desk and owner, Fransisco. Not the kind of "good vibes" that come from a grungy, trustafarian, backpackers hostal... this is a professional establishment all the way and it's located in just the right spot, not too hard of a trek up from the plano (the flat part of Valpo) and somewhere in between the touristy and real Valpo. Plus, Fransisco knows Valpo and the surrounding region really well and can give you all the info you might need. Really a sweet spot!
