29 reviewsWe stayed in the Refugio's Loft I on two occasions. Our first 2 weeks in the country, then an additional 3+weeks at the end of our trip. We were on holiday with 2 kids (4+8, first time abroad really) and found this place to be incredibly comfortable and spacious; the whole family really loved it. The Refugio feels secure and had everything we needed. If we needed heating/cooling/help/additional toilet paper/sth for the kitchen, we simply asked. The staff are friendly, helpful, professional and courteous. The laundry is self-serve and readily available. We had summer weather so just dried our gear in the loft but there is also a dryer in the laundry space. Cook-top, fridge+microwave served us well for prepping meals at "home". There are bikes and helmets you can loan. The housekeeping is regular - beds are made, and towels and toilet paper delivered fresh every couple of days. The price is really reasonable by Santiago standards. We ended up having to pay in cash as we had changed to Chilean phones and not pre-advised Paypal (grrr) but this wasn't a big problem. Overall, if you are looking for somewhere affordable, in a good location with helpful staff but an independent DIY situation, then this could well be the place for you. In terms of location, Jofre is close to at least 3 Metro stations (2 different lines), supermarkets, mini-marts, bottle shops, restaurants, Cerro Santa Lucia, Feria Santa Lucia, Lastarria, GAM, and heaps more.
