Is a 3 blocks from the main attraction that is the Cathedral and is just perfectly attend by its owners. All the service was great and we stay in a very good bedroom next to the street with 4 bedrooms, specially for parents with 3 children. That day was rainy but we stay very cozy in the place.

Quiet, good private rooms, very nice bed. Amazing showers, spacious, new, different showerheads. Very friendly owners who serve breakfast in the living room. Breakfast is very good with bread, cheese, salami, juice, coffee, yogurt. Amazing quality for a very good price.

Chiloe is a nice and relaxed region. And Castro is the perfect place to explore Chiloe, given its good bus connections and central location.

I am really satisfied to have chosen Amapola. I had a quiet and comfortable room and a clean shared bathroom. The hospedaje is not far from the bus station. What made my stay really special was the friendly and helpful family running the place. I stayed 6 nights instead of 2 because it was just so nice and cosy.

We stayed one night in the private room and had a very pleasant stay. The king size bed is very comfortable, you will sleep very well. Shower is good, sometimes boiling hot though, be careful. Spacious room.
Due to the wooden interioir, it can be a bit "noisy", especially when people are walking around on the floor above. Breakfast was good.

Stayed longer than planned, it's just nice and cosy

Wooden comfy hotel

We needed a place to sleep on-the-go before continuing our trip to the south of Chiloé the day after. We found this place and decided to stay there, as it was only one night. The whole house was extremely noisy, the staff kept speaking loud until 12 AM or so. It's an old house, all made of wood, so you could hear every crack and step in the second floor. Our door was broken and we had to push it hard to close, so we woke up each other every time we went to the toilet. And the worst part - the windows! Old windows, didn't close properly, so no noise isolation at all. We heard every car and bus from the street and didn't manage to sleep for more than an hour in a row. I know this is not the hostel's fault, but they could use some money in changing the windows for thicker ones. 50$ for being kept awake all night is way too much, specially considering that sleeping is the main point in a hostel.

On the bright side, it was very clean, bed was really comfy and bathroom was tidy (although there was no hot water in the shower after everyone's respective showers). Breakfast was good, with sandwiches, kuchen and yoghurt, as well as tea and coffee.

The owners were helpful and asked a few times if everything was OK, although they got upset when we spoke about our bad sleeping. We were asked about the rating we would give them on Booking.com and they got upset about us not giving them a 9 or 10, which felt pretty awkward.

In summary, I'd better choose another place to sleep, unless you sleep like a stone and don't mind the noise. The rest is manageable.
