Kolina d'sol

After full of street life and noisy city of Mindelo and dry and hot as a desert Sao Vicente island we went to Santo Antao island and was pleasantly surprised by freshness of air, dramatically beautiful mountains covered by clouds and green valleys between them. On arriving we crossed the island by old road that run through the mountains and reached our place of stay at northernmost point of the whole Cape Verde — Kolina d'Sol Residence at small town Ponta Do Sol. It was really like to come back home. Very cosy room on the second floor with red window curtains and red bed-clothes instantly tuned us on a romantic wave :-) And when we went up to the roof terrace for a couple of beers we was completely in love with this place. After a day tour around the island with a bit hiking we didn't want to go explore unfamiliar town and there was no need for that. The owner himself (an excellent cook by the way) made for us a delicious dinner with fish and vegetables for the main course and unforgettable banana flambé for the dessert. A bottle of good Fogo wine gave the final touch to perfection of the day. Only one more guest stayed at the same time with us, but we saw each other only twice or thrice during two days, so it might be saying that our staying was absolutely private. Travelling in low season has its advantages.
