Mindelo

Residencial Maravilha is a lovely little hotel in the heart of Mindelo, just a few minutes walk from the town center and the ferry dock. The rooms are big and clean. They may look a bit old school but furniture is good quality. My room had a great sea view. No shower gel/soap was provided which isn't a issue, juts to be prepared as one is so used to that these days.Staff is really friendly. The breakfast is also nice. Just make sure you tell the arrival time beforehand as the reception isn't always open, especially in the evening. Highly recommended.

i had a long stay there and i can recommend it to anyone.

i felt like home and the place has a nice cozy vibe.

it has a good location. directly near the main touristic avenue the “marginal”. quite near the harbor if you intend to visit santo antao.

it’s quite affordable. i just needed bed and breakfast so it doesn’t make sense to spend more. right next to it you have places that are 5x more expensive 

the owner and staff are friendly and organized 

the breakfast is simple but more than enough.

the rooms are clean and spacious

I thought it was really funny that there are sparrows that go in and out of the building as if it was their own house :)

for a tour around the island i would recommend greenlinetourscv it’s affordable and interesting as well. the guide is quite nice and professional and also organizes trips to santo antão

off course it’s not perfect. here are some things i would change or improve with time:
- cash payment is not practical if you stay long
- the region is quite windy. the wooden framed windows should be checked because they make some noise.
- the bed sheets and bathroom towels although they were clean they could be either replaced or bleached :they should be white
- the small old tv and fridge are only taking space 
- downstairs although it might give you a feeling that you are inside someone’s home i think it’s a little bit cluttered. i would remove extra chairs and decoration stuff that are not used and make it more tidy
- they should partner up with local tour companies and provide tours and activities information

affordable - comfortable - friendly

I stayed at the Residencial Maravilha for four days following a sailing trip, the accommodation is basic but clean and fully equipped. At about a third the cost of the neighbouring establishment and with similar views I was more than happy.
Someone made the point that it was noisy here,  I was there on a Saturday night and found the same. But this is the nature of Mindelo and nothing to do with the hotel other than its proximity to the town centre, in fact the owner called the police and the noise stopped abruptly.

Good value for money, no frills accommodation and close to the centre of Mindelo.

Maravilha has a great location, just a couple of minutes walk from the ferry boat. Our twin room was spacious and we had a balcony with harbour view. The shower had plenty of warm water.The staff were pleasant. The included breakfast was OK. The problem was the noise! We were there on a Saturday night, and there was some kind of nightclub downstairs with loud music blaring out until 4 a.m. I managed to sleep wearing ear plugs; my friend had no ear plugs and could not sleep at all. (It may not be so bad on other nights). The decor is kind of faded and the bathroom had a weird feature - no door handle inside, so you needed a friend outside to shut the door for you! Also water was leaking over the bathroom floor. Altogether a mixed experience.

Great location - 5 minutes walk to the center, 10 minutes to the harbor. 15 minutes to the city beach.
Very nice old style building. The inside of the building is fantastic and the terrace on the roof top provides a great view over Mindelo.
Sleeping room and bathroom were large. Shower was great - plenty of warm water. Cleanness could be improved even it was not really dirty. Air conditioner worked well. 2 separated single beds is a no go. Wireless/WiFi was free in the lobby.
Breakfast was simple but fresh. Dinner was really excellent.
Very friendly and helpful service.

We spend 2 nights prior our journey to Santo Antao and 1 night after our return. We can really recommend this hotel.

central location

Maravilha is an old bulding, close to the center. We had a suite, which was a very large room including a living area. Bathroom is extremely small, providing WC, very small sink and a shower.
AC and windows on two sides of the building allow for an agreable breeth in the room.
There is in front of the hotel a small restaurant with excellent Cabo Verde food. The best one we had during our 4 weeks trip. Very friendly service and the cook himself asked how we enjoyed the food.
There are some discos around so it wasn't very quiet at night.
On the other hand you are in walking distance to the city with music aroun any corner
and the small city beach is also not far away.
