Boa Vista

Our second visit to this hotel was still as wonderful as the first time we went. Staff are so friendly and work so hard...from the cleaners, gardeners to the bar/kitchen staff, always have a smile for you. We loved our morning latte in the square to start our day at 7am. 
The only thing I would say is that although the service is 4*, the accommodation is no more than 3* as very dated and in need of some TLC. On saying that, rooms are exceptionally clean and adequate for our 1 week stay.

2nd Visit to this hotel

We had a great holiday at this hotel. The staff couldn’t do enough for you and were so friendly. There is nothing outside the hotel apart from a beautiful beach so if you want to stroll into a nearby village/town this is not the place for you. However it’s a fantastic place to stay if you want a relaxing holiday. Everything was excellent, clean, great choice of food. The only thing I would suggest is the main pool has one block of toilets and could do with having another block the opposite side of the pool. We had a great time from start to finish, thank you. 

Lovely Hotel

This is a hotel we have been too several times and are booked to return January 2025. BUT the pool restaurant leaves a lot to be desired, the food is repeatably lukewarm or even cold, the food trays are frequently nearly empty or even empty and nobody seems to be in a hurry to refill them, the salad bar was a disgrace, it was a mess (sloppy guests) and again nobody seems to take responsibility for them. Bread rolls never seems to be of very high importance, on one occasion it took an HOUR from first request to there actually somebody refilling them. On the plus side the table staff work hard trying to keep tables cleared.
The bar staff and the staff in the main restaurant work hard and are friendly, the pool bar staff are a good bunch with a smile and are very good at there job.
Don't let my rating put you off going as I'm sure you will have a good time.

Mixed feelings

The hotel was excellent, very clean and the staff were exceptional in everything they did from serving drinks and food to room cleaning and just being very helpful and friendly. The beach is amazing and the pools very clean. Although it is a large hotel there was never any problems finding a sun lounger and the pool towel service was great. All the food in the different restaurants was excellent with a very good choice in the two buffet ones that changed daily. Overall I would very highly recommend this hotel

Absolutely beautiful resort but make sure you come prepared! 
If you do a little check before coming you can have the best time ever! 
I had all info so I wish the same to everyone as I saw many people coming unprepared.

Few advices :
• Take travel biotics with you because it will help to prevent stomach issues when coming in contact with different water and food. (I have sensitive stomach but I was absolutely fine and I believe the reason was travel biotics and not having ice and their tap water - bottled water is provided by hotel as much as you need)
• If you need to iron your clothes take travel iron because they don’t have any irons in restart (I checked in reception)
• If you think you might need any painkillers, diarrhoea tablets just in case you have reactions on their water, take it with you because their shops in resort doesn’t offer any of that.
• If you have baby, you need prepare baby food and formula. Nappies you can usually find in their shop.

Beautiful but be prepared! 🌴

Very nice resort with lovely staff and gorgeous sea front. The rooms were very close to each other so you could hear everything so not so great for romantic holidays. Also, we would like restaurants with a La carte menu but there are buffet style. Overall amazing stay, with attentive staff and great atmosphere.

Just got back from a week at this hotel,  it is like an oasis in the middle of nowhere.  The weather was fantastic which is what we went for.  The pool areas are great, the rooms are okay.  There are several extra restaurants but you have to book as soon as you get there and you still probably wont get in the first evening session at 7, ok if you want to eat at 9.  The  main restaurant  is a bit  like a cattle market but there is another  one that is much nicer at night that serves some of the  same food.  My main gripe was the evening entertainment or lack of it.  You get a kind of a show at 9 o clock until 10,  the dancing is ok but it is all miming what I saw.  Then you get Karaoke until about 12, there is an empty night club but after 2 nights being empty we gave up looking in. Many people just played cards or something like dominoes in the main bar area,  for me that is people who are bored.   I asked quite a lot of people if they would come again and their answer was always no, which was a shame as it does have potential.  The staff  are fantastic and cannot do enough for you, the daytime activities people also do the evening show and work so hard.  There was loads of children  no idea what was there was for them as we were a couple.  So if you want to go to bed early and have a good sleep this is the place for you or if you want to go pay to go out on trips everyday or hire a car to get out you may be fine, as you cannot walk anywhere.  Do not go here to go in the sea as it is a no no and so dangerous even at the edge, the beach is nice  and stretches for miles and miles all empty.

Looks impressive but lacking entertainment

Nice place really enjoyed this hoilday  we stayed in the adult bit which was really good welll worth the money we will be definitely going again. The food was good the only thing which is disappointing is you have to book in some of the restaurants to eat which is a problem because they are always booked up so I would book in to them soon has you get there apart from that everything else is good  the shops they have in the complex are expensive so if you want crisp or chocolate bring your own it's €6 for a packet of crisp everything in the shops are expensive. 

Family hoildays 

6 of us stayed here for 7 nights. We booked the adults only section. We travelled with my two daughters aged 18 and 20 and my parents in their 60's. We all had a wonderful holiday. The staff are by far, the best asset here. Derio in particular looked after us at the pool bar. The grounds are beautiful, the pools are fantastic, the food is good and nightlife is what you'd expect of an all inclusive. there is a nightclub for the teenagers too. Hotel rooms were lovely. the whole place was super clean. We don't tend to go the same place twice but would consider returning here. Right on the beach, but don't go in the sea in July - its dangerous because its so rough. Don't hesitate to book if you are undecided.

Amazing staff and hotel

I'll leave the dilapidated rooms, the poor quality and variety of the food, the drunken guests, the noise, the overwhelming crowds - throughout the resort to other reviewers - I'd like to comment on the lack of service, the complete lack of care and the untruths emanating from this hotel & Tui. I don't know whether I am unhappier with the hotel or with Tui - I think they both share the blame equally. When others have criticised this hotel the response is always 'these guests are looking for a discount'. Be assured I want no discount - I will never book another holiday with Tui or stay at a Riu hotel again. Let me explain:

Arrive at the hotel - room wrong - where are the reps? Oh, they left 90 minutes ago! (before the plane landed). Very helpful. Ring the London number (to see if they can help) to be told that they're 'getting rid' of the reps - because they're 'useless'. London office will ring back later - don't hold your breath - they don't.
A few days on, one member of the family gets bacterial gastroenteritis (which must have been caught at the hotel) and another member of the family (a child) gets 'Strep A' (which must have been caught at the hotel) - where are the reps? Oh, I forgot they're useless: sort it out ourselves with the in-house medics at a cost of €500. 

Worst of all, our nine year old grandson leaves his special toy in the room when we check out (a small tiger given to him by his mum 4 years ago just before she died - and a constant companion, which he needs to go to sleep at night.)

Day 1: arrived home, discovered the loss, emailed the hotel.
Day 2: emailed the hotel again.
Day 3: Email received from WILSON MENDES at the hotel. We have the toy and will post it back to you.
Called Tui.
Called Hotel. Please don't post - please send by courier - here's my CC number. Hotel says: it's OK we'll send by courier, no charge, as 'a courtesy'.
Day 4. Emailed hotel. Called Tui. No reply.
Day 5. Emailed hotel. Called Tui. No reply. 
Day 6. Emailed hotel. No reply. 
Day 7. Emailed hotel. No reply.
Day 8. Emailed hotel No reply. Called Tui,  Nadeen promised to contact Reps and get back to me. No reply.
Day 9. Emailed hotel. No reply. Called Tui, Omur promised to contact Reps and get back to me. No reply.
Day 10. Emailed hotel. No reply. Called Tui. Martina promised to contact Reps and get back to me: replied (by text) Rep checked with hotel. They don't have the toy. Even if they did have it - they couldn't send it, as there is no reliable postal service and no courier service.
Via Facebook we managed to contact a guest leaving that day- she approached the reception: "the toy was sent to the UK by post." 
Someone is not telling the truth.

Service is a four letter word CARE. Clearly neither the hotel or Tui have any interest in the CARE of their guests. Still, my grandson cries himself to sleep every night, blaming himself for the loss of the last toy his mummy could give him.
