Auberge du P'tit Paradis

This was our fourth visit to L'Auberge du Petit Paradis. We discovered this hidden gem, in the Denholm area, several years ago. Meals are excellent and the service is exceptional. It is located about 50 minutes from Ottawa along the Paugan road near Poltimore, Quebec. If you are looking for a taste of class, in a beautiful log cabin, surrounded by natural beauty, then take the short ride from Ottawa/Gatineau to experience this wonderful spot called Le Petit Paradis. You will not be disappointed.

We had a fantastic and romantic stay at Auberge du P'tit Paradis back in January. I surprised my boyfriend to a private dinner and a stay at the Royal room, followed by a day of skiing at Mont Ste-Marie for his birthday.

We happened to be the only guests staying at the hotel that night, and since we were both used to busy restaurant atmosphere and never had a private dining experience before, we were not sure how it will go. We had our first quiet, private, romantic dinner cooked by a Chef and we were blown away. Christian is a great Chef, and the dinner he served us was delicious and satisfying. Plate after plate, the dishes were refined in presentation and in taste - they were home-cooked, savory and gourmet. We felt comfortable and well looked after the entire evening, thanks to Lise who took care of the service. In addition, The Royal room we stayed in was beautifully decorated and comfortable - the king sized bed is heaven! 

I will not hesitate to recommend Auberge du P'tit Paradis to others for both dinner and stay. Lise and Christian are friendly, warm, creative, hard-working and sweet people, who run a great and professional business. 

We loved Auberge du P'tit Paradis so much that we are having our wedding there in May, catered by Christian! Thank you Christian and Lise for an amazing and life-changing experience.

Auberge du P'tit Paradis truly is a hidden gem. The food is outstanding, and Lise and Christian are such wonderful hosts. The restaurant is worth a trip on its own, but I can strongly recommend staying a night in the Auberge as well. We had such a relaxing experience beginning with pre-dinner drinks by the fire, continuing by one of the best meals I have ever had and finishing with an excellent night's sleep in an extremely comfy bed. The breakfast the next morning was also fantastic and set us up well for a day's skiing. If you are thinking of visiting Auberge du P'tit Paridis, stop thinking about it and just book it, you will not regret it!

We had a truly wonderful time at l'Auberge du P'tit Paradis! The owners are very warm and friendly, the rooms extremely comfortable, and our dinner there was among the best meals we've ever had, anywhere. Could not recommend them more highly.

We were staying at a nearby cottage and were keen to take a break from cooking. And since the area is more known for hunting, catching slaying and gutting your own food, we were a little surprised to find an auberge promising exquisite cuisine, personalized service in a luxurious setting. 

Auberge du P'tit Paradis is everything it says. It's small scale, so you need to book in advance. And the ever-changing menu offers a limited number of choices. However if our food was an indication, none of them will disappoint. Besides which Christian will adapt or augment to suit your tastes.

Our party of five had a vegetarian, two pescatarians and a picky-eater-atarian, and Christian managed to create dishes to thrill all of us. Lise is a brilliant, convivial host.

You bring your own wine. The dining room is well-appointed and everything has the feel of 'special night out' about it. The table linen, flatware, glassware are all befitting of a luxurious dinner out.

We had the dining room to ourselves but the hosts usually accommodate three or four tables per meal.
