Wya Point Resort

The campsite has the most amazing views. We have been here for two years in a row, and enjoy it thoroughly. The showers are a bit of a walk to get to, but they are warm, and you don't have to pay for them (unlike some campgrounds in the area). Also, the hosts are very kind and easy to talk to, if you have any questions.

Westcoast cabins with beautiful finishings and a spectacular view of the ocean.  Quiet place away from the fast pace of life.  I loved the private, secluded beach out in the middle of nowhere. I left feeling recharged and relaxed.

Down a long and bumpy track you will find a row of yurts nestled amongst huge trees and right on the beach. I mean literally, they open out onto the beach.

I was a little nervous about staying in a yurt but found it to be really very comfortable. We lit the woodburning stove in our yurt (the Hummingbird, at the far end a bit further away from the others). It was super cosy.

Things to think about. 
- Really do read their information about taking your own drinking water. There is absolutely no drinking water at the yurts, and none is provided.
- Really do also take note that there is no toilet in the yurt. There's a toilet and shower block in the middle of the yurt line, but you need to plan this in before you lie cosy in bed too long!
- Take a torch! It's super dark at night.
- And plan to sit on the beach after dark. The fires are wonderful, but it can be chilly after dark.
- Prepare for no WIFI and no reception either, unplug and relax.

I've never stayed in a yurt before, and I really don't do camping, but this was really wonderful and I'd recommend it.

This place was amazing! Gorgeous views, cozy Yurts and beautifully secluded beach. Such a great way to unplug! No wifi, no tv’s no distractions. My daughter and I had the best time and can’t wait to go back!

The lodges are a perfect place to relax.  Gorgeous views, secluded beach.
Unfortunately we had noisey neighbors who played loud music, left garbage on the beach (beer cans), let their aggressive dogs run free harrasing people and treated the enviroment as their private party place.  They would have been more suited to Jersey Shores.  
Fortunately they left after a day and a half.
It was a shame people can not self-police their behavior.

Location, location, right on the ocean, waves crashing all day and night, wildlife, we saw a seal, a bear and a wolf, immaculate, high end bedding and towels, friendly staff, large view windows, deck, very poor Internet/WiFi was the only negative and an upgrade would be a benefit in all ways. There doesn't seem to be any availability on Hotels web site, impossible to rebook!

fantastic!!  the view breathtaking...the Pacific is on your doorstep, so is a little mink, and the sound is a continuous wave pounding symphony!  no wonder they film movies and tv at wya point!

The draw of the yurts are to have the pleasure of waking up right next to the ocean with a little more comfort and warmth.  The yurts are ideal for mid-season stays in Pacific Rim when it’s just too cold to camp, as they have a propane stove.  They also have a BBQ, plates and warm, comfortable bedding. If you’re expecting luxury, you may be a little disappointed, but if you actually take the time to read the Wya Point website or the yurt descriptions, you will know exactly what to expect.  Waking up right next to the ocean in a warm, comfortable bed it unbeatable.  The private beach is very special and the rocks are a great place to watch the sunset.  This was our second time here and we’d love to make it a yearly tradition. The lodges are also really beautiful, but there is something magical with the yurt, feeling so close to a nature.

We absolutely loved our stay at Wya Point Resort. It was truly magical. The only thing that was a bit frustrating was that the kitchen was extremely basic and made it a bit hard to cook. There were also many things broken in the kitchen. If you plan on cooking, I would bring some of your own wares.Other than that, it was beautiful! We will definitely be back :)

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic experience staying in the yurts at Wya point. It was back to nature at its finest. There was everything there for a winter retreat. We could walk the shoreline or just bundle up and hang out in our cozy propane heated tent. Can’t wait to return, hopefully in the summer, for another adventure.

Amazing campsite and very nice hosts

We stayed in campsite 10 with our 23' trailer.  It was a bit tight, but doable.  The campsite had a lovely peak-a-boo view to the ocean and a large rock with the waves crashing over.  The private beach is beautiful and we climbed over the rocks every  night to watch the sunset.  We were blessed with 5 days of hot sunshine, which is unheard of when you travel to the West Coast.

Bathrooms and showers were good, with washing stations for dishes which was convenient as well.  We didn't have an issue with having to pack everything away for bears as we had our trailer, but people who complain about having to do that haven't dealt with problem bears before. 

The only complaint would be the state of the bathrooms in the evening.  If a toilet backed up, ran out of TP or paper towel, they weren't attended to until late morning.  There were two nights/mornings where there one or more toilets were unusable. 

All in all, the price tag is a little steep for what you're getting (no power or water) but I would recommend this campsite without hesitation and would come here again.

Stunning scenery!

We stayed in a RV with 3 people & a dog and we could hear the waves all day and night hitting the beach. We could also see the ocean from our campsite which was fabulous. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed hiking to Florencia Bay from the entrance to the Wya Resort. The hosts were very informative & helpful-thanks 
Mitchell. We can’t wait to return.

Wonderful place to stay!

We stayed in cabin #1, the location is stunning, beautiful sunsets both nights, with a beach right in front of our cabin. The view from inside this cabin was fantastic. 
The location was easy to find. I give the location and cabin itself a 5 star, some small things to note, the tap water is not drinkable, but they supply a water dispenser for drinking and cooking. Also the dining room chairs are not very comfortable and the living room is sparsely furnished, the one floor lamp was not bright enough to read by at night. These were more minor inconveniences, but at the price charged hopefully they will update the furniture.

Relaxing weekend off grid

My sister and I camped at WYA camp ground, just a few minutes from the resort. We booked a walk-in camp site situated right on the ocean. Our car was parked about a 3 minute walk from our site with wheelbarrows to load  supplies in. The cost was quite high at $75 per night for all sites whether ocean side or on higher ground.  Showers are private washrooms that are free with lots of hot water! It's situated in a truly spectacular beach and private cove, with yurts also available. Bear caches are close to each walk in site to store food. Pack light for the walk in spots.  I would highly recommend the ocean side sites.

Oceanside camp grounds unlike any other

We were pleasantly surprised when we finally got to our campsite with our 25 foot travel trailer after a rather potholed, bumpy, narrow and winding 1km road.  The RV sites were spacious and private.  We could see and hear the Pacific Ocean!  There were many walk in tent spots closer to the beach hidden in the trees. The beach was pebbled in rounded stones of every size.  Amy and Owen were great hosts, and could be found bombing around in the golf cart with firewood, answering questions and keeping the place clean.  The private hot showers are most welcome and there are toilet facilities in upper and lower buildings. Don’t be discouraged by the poorly designed website.  Hopefully someone is working on it. They are off the grid and there are NO serviced sites.  Amy does answer emails, but she can only access them on certain days.  If you’re looking for a quiet, remote spot along the Pacific Ocean, Wya Point is the place!  We will return!!
