In spite of our poor to non-existent French language skills, due to Martine's efforts, we were able to enjoy a good conversation with our hostess.    She served a wonderful breakfast and was generous with the food and her time, recommending places to see and stay on the next leg of our trip.  A lucky find and we would definitely stay at this charming B&B again!

Our family (family of 5 ) stayed three nights at Gite Soleil Levant as we were curious about Trois Rivieres and wanted a cozy B&B where we might be able to practise our French.  Our visit chez Martine was great!  We spent a very lovely time with Martine, really enjoyed her hospitality, the food and the cozy environment.

We stayed here with our two young daughters in July and had a fabulous experience. The hostess is welcoming, gives a lot of information and maps of the area, and keeps a beautiful house and garden. There are plenty of spots, (rocking benches, little tables) in the garden to relax and the breakfast is superb. The indoor pool with a plethora of toys was a huge hit with the kids (and us) and the bathrobes Martine provides for getting to and from the pool were a very thoughtful touch. A wonderful place to stay when in Trois Rivieres.

We stayed here for a night and found it quite nice. The breakfast was really good and the friendly hostess even gave us a bag with some of the food left over for lunch. The room was small but clean, as was the shared bathroom. The swimming pool looked nice and though we had some communication challenges the hostess tried to give us as many tips as possible. The one negative thing was that it smelled a bit strange, at times it smelled as if someone was smoking in the house.

Wonderful B&B with indoor pool!

Our room was large and well-maintained, but be warned there are smokers in this house, to which my wife reacted badly.  We would have chosen another facility, had we known this was a feature of this house. The location; a rural area west of Trois Rivières was pastoral. The breakfast was agreeable. There was an incredible heated pool, which unfortunately, we did not use. While the host was quite helpful in terms of explaining how to get to the locations we wanted to see, we couldn't get over the feeling that the host was resentful of us being there and almost hostile when we asked to change our breakfast time due to circumstances beyond our control.  If you want to experience some rural Québec culture and don't mind being 10 km from Le Vieux Trois Rivières (where there are many B&B's), this could be the place for you.

Very nice accomodations but still left me feeling a little dissappointed

I cannot give this B&B a higher rating due to the strong smell of smoke that was in all the common areas of the house. This property should NOT be listed as non-smoking - we would not have booked it had we known. The smell hit us as soon as Martine opened the door. It got into our clothes and then into our car. Our room was less smoky, so we stayed there all evening, which proved to be quite uncomfortable as there were no chairs to sit in and the bed was under a slanted ceiling, so we couldn't lean against the wall. Sharing a bathroom was never a problem, but I think it would have been tricky if all the rooms were booked. The breakfast was the highlight - very good & lots of variety. Fortunately we were only staying 1 night, and we left promptly after breakfast to air out our car and go for a walk to get rid of the smell of smoke on us.
