It’s comfy and very clean. Friendly check in, comfortable beds. Lovely size fridge in our room. Very pleased.

Room was comfortable, clean and spacious. Good internet, comfortable beds. The bathroom was quite small compared to the rest of the room and the toilet was lower to the floor and in between the wall & shower wall; fine if your a petite person, but the average person would find it a tight space. It rained overnight and I had a very difficult time opening my door in the morning. Ok for an overnight stay.

Stayed here on a motorcycle trip for one night when it was baking hot out. 
Sunny at the front desk was very friendly at check-in and when we got to our rooms the a/c was running so that was already a plus. 
Room 38 is huge, clean, and quiet even being just off the highway. 
The beds are unbelievably comfortable, clean, and have new bedding.  
We would stay here again and as a bonus there’s a pretty decent steakhouse/pub just across the road.

Clean & quiet

The property is a short 90 second drive to Downtown Trail, and it's downhill all the way, and in the opposite direction just 3min drive to Warfield and 8mins to Rossland: 12mins to Big Red Ski Resort. The parking the motel was good. I had a room with a kitchenette, which was very convenient as I didn't want go out to restaurants and spend more money.  The room was clean and the Motel's host, she was so lovely.

Had seen this place on TripAdvisor but did not book ahead.  I showed up without a reservation looking for a single for one night.  No problem.

The motel has a couple of sections - I was in the back, the part you cannot see from the road.  There was parking right in front of the unit.

The unit had been re-done - the room was not really large but was nicely decorated, a newer bathroom, flat screen TV, coffee maker and fridge.  The bed was a bit soft for my likeing but not too bad.

The room was quiet even though there were other guests in adjacent rooms.

The price was OK, WIFI was reliable.  No breakfast etc.

The only down side was that there are not many restaurants close by.  Other than the one right across the highway, you have to drive down hill into Trail or uphill into Winfield or Rossland.  Both Trail and Rossland/Winfield are not walkable.

Not Too Bad

My husband and I recently had to cancel our four-night reservation at the Ray Lyn Hotel in Trail, because of a health problem. We cancelled after the deadline for free cancellation. The hotel kindly waived the one-night fee for a late cancellation, even though they had already had to turn other business away, because our booking had blocked others from coming to them. I certainly hope they were able to rebook our room, and I feel they acted in a kind and ethical manner in this case. I recommend them highly for this reason.

Cancellation Refund Very Kind

I was staying in Trail for work and was looking for something convenient, clean and reasonably priced. When I first pulled up to the hotel... I was questioning my hotel choice as it does look rather dated from the outside. However, when I went into the main office I was greeted by friendly and organized staff that were very helpful and accommodating. I was also greeted by their very friendly cat which was fantastic!
The room itself was extremely clean and very spacious. It was slightly dated but you can see they maintain it well and are gradually updating. 
Over all, staff (furry ones included) were great, price was great, rooms were clean and the beds were very comfy! If I need to go back to Trail again, I wouldn't book anywhere else.

Would definitely stay again!

Easy access. Close to skiing. Inexpensive. A little noisy in the early morning.

Clean and recently renovated. There are no amenities to speak of, but anything you need is a 5 minutes drive.
