A&K Motel

This little bachelor type suite was just perfect for our 2 day stay.Main level entrance and private parking met our needs.No extra charge for pet and reasonable rate are attractive features well.The access to the yard quiet neighborhood yet easy access to a main traffic artery mske this a great liitle motel.We will definitely be returning.

This motel was clean, very well priced and comfortable. My only complaints would be the location isn't fantastic, a bit far from everything but that can't really be helped. The rooms were great, newly renovated and very clean! One other thing I'd mention is the room was missing a few things like salt and soap but other than that it was great!

Cheap and clean, worked well for what we wanted! 

Great Little Motel

Motel is in a central, residential area, on the residence of the owner. It's only four or five rooms, and the office is in the man's home. His children clean the rooms. The man himself is a bit unprofessional, talked negatively about past customers and couldn't find the room key at first. The room itself was good for the price, only $66 a night, clean and small but with everything necessary except maybe a small fan. Yard and property could've used a face lift. Decent budget spot.

Unusual Little Motel

Was recommend to stay here while we were in town and we found that a nieghbour had a lot of foot traffic at first figured it was drugs then come to find out this was alone female and all the customers were male and staying no longer then 15 min span!
Not sure how this is aloud the owner seemed to know about this and didn't care good way to run your small business to the ground !!
For anyone that stays there she is residing in room 1#!!!

Last year after a long 16 hour journey to Thunder Bay I stayed at A&K Motel. After a long day all you want to do is lay down, relax and get some rest. This wasn't an option when we pulled back the comforter and saw white smears (we all can imagine what that was) all over the comforter. We called and told the owner (wife I assume) and she brought us some new bedding. My cousin and I put the new bedding on the bed because we felt like we had to. The wife was very apologetic and said that the kids were the ones who cleaned the room etc. 

This year I returned after another 16 hour journey (by myself this time) to give it another shot and to support what could be a great motel in Thunder Bay but I was very disappointed yet again. The male owner was not friendly or professional on the phone. I felt like I was a complete bother by calling. Soon after I locked my key in my room so I had to call again. After chatting with him I waited for around 15 minutes outside in the cold/rain I called again asking to get into my room. The room wasn't great at all. The floors were disgusting and looked as though they hadn't been swept, vacuumed or mopped in days, there was mouse poop on the counter, no coffee or dish soap was restocked, the end table was randomly pulled out, table chairs out of place, stain on the pillow case and little hairs in the bed. It looked like nothing was touched or cleaned after the previous guests (just a bed that was made but not very clean)

I was hoping that my second experience would be better but it certainly wasn't. I unfortunately will not be returning or recommending it to anyone.
