Bocabec Country Garden Cottages

St. Andrews

We just returned from a 5 night stay at Bocabec Country Cottages, New Brunswick.

We booked directly with Dennis by phone and he made the process easy and pleasant, and his warm and welcoming manner made us look forward even more to our trip.

Initially we booked for 4 nights but owing to being in Halifax during hurricane Dorian, and having no power at our Airbnb, we called to ask if we could come a day earlier than planned. Again, Dennis made us feel very welcome.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Sandra and had a quick and easy check in. She was so welcoming of our dog Ellie, and spoiled her with treats!

She walked us through the beautiful, well tended gardens leading to our cottage, The Gardeners Getaway. We were treated to a beautiful view of the ocean, only a short walk through a trail from the cottage.

The cottage is one of 3, all with ocean views. Ours was a small, open plan one room cottage with a sleeping area with a wall mounted TV, a eating area with a table and four chairs, and a well equipped kitchen, with stove, fridge, and microwave.
There was ample storage in a dresser for our clothes as well as a closet with hangers. The cottage lives up to its name, with lots of cute garden related decorations and definitely has a country cottage vibe.

Outside, there is a very good bbq which we used twice to cook steaks and some delicious Atlantic salmon, a firepit with muskoka chairs, and a outdoor patio set. 
They were so kind to bring us not one, but two lobster pots, a propane stove for boiling the water for cooking the lobsters, and even lobster crackers and forks. When Sandra heard our two year old granddaughter would be visiting for the evening, she brought us a basket of toys belonging to her grandson! Our granddaughter loved playing with them!

The bed was very comfortable and we slept so well in this lovely quiet location.

I'm not sure how long they plan to continue renting out the cottages on a short term basis, but if they are still available when we next visit the beautiful Saint Andrew's area, we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

A perfect place to relax and unwind, and only a 12 minute drive from all that Saint Andrew's has to offer, and a 5 minute drive from some lovely hiking trails.

Thank you for your hospitality, Sandra and Dennis. We hope to return in the not too distant future.

A beautiful location

We stayed for three nights. We had the larger cottage. I would recommend this to anyone. The only thing we had to bring was food, everything else was provided. The owners were more than helpful and so nice. It was a quiet setting with a very short walk to the water front. Bring your chairs and watch the sun set, beautiful. It was a quick drive into saint andrews, about 15 min. Don't buy your fresh fish in saint Andrews, head out of town to back bay near st george, r& m fish shack, fantastic fresh fish, the owners suggested it and it was worth the drive. BBQ fish and clams!. We were more than happy with our stay and would highly recommend these cottages.

Lovely quiet spot

The cottage was very clean and well kept.  It was too small for my husband and I.  When we watched tv at night we had to sit on the bed.  Sandra and Denis are amazing hosts and very helpful.  It was close to St. Stephen which is a pretty place to visit.

Quiet place.

Terrific spot for us, with a young child.  Location was nice and quiet, the cottage was equipped with everything we expected, plus things we didn't, like toiletries and our own fire pit!  The hosts were very kind, helpful with maps of nearby St. Andrews, a quick tour when we arrived, even sticking around to wait for us when we ran behind schedule.  Loved the quiet, the shade, the sea.  Highly recommended!

Great family pick

I could not have asked for more. The cottage was spacious and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable, kitcgen well- equipped and the towels the plushest I have had in accommodations. The cottage is nestled in trees and only a two minute walk to the water. Sandra couldn't have been more helpful, providing information on the local area and suggesting trips. This is truly an idyllic location to soothe your soul and recharge the batteries.

Fantastic stay.

The cabin was clean and has everything you need. Cable, wifi, kitchen. Nice walk to the shore. I can't say enough good things about the stay here. I would not hesitate to stay here again.Lovely stay!!!!
