Really liked this place. Wonderful beds, super quiet at night. Great privacy between cabins. Hot tubs are dated but work well. We saw whales ( through binoculars ) every day as well as sea otters and sea lions. Lots of hiking and beautiful beaches nearby. But bring your own food as restaurants are few and far between. We really enjoyed it.

We are so happy we got to return here for another visit. We stayed 3 nights which is perfect. Came home rested and relaxed, hope we can do it again in the fall. The view is amazing and we had perfect weather. It’s so peaceful here, never saw another person except in the parking area. Thank you for sharing your peace of paradise with us.

Fossil Bay is great. Good prices, spectacular views, cozy hot tubs, excellent internet connection, tv cable. You need to bring your own fire wood and house coat but otherwise rivals Point No Point (which does not have in cabin internet). Beds were new and comfortable. Easy to book.  

Most amazing views from the hot tub on our deck! The open fireplace is very romantic. King bed is very comfortable and all bedding is provided. Bring a robe and slippers to walk on the tile floor. Close to Jordan River to surf. We hired boards in Sooke and loved surfing all day and stargazing in the hot tub at night. Amazing weekend!

We've stayed here many, many time over the last several years and absolutely love it!  All the basics you need plus a fantastic view, hot tub, privacy....did I say view!
Comfy king bed, full bath,  fireplace and full kitchen await you along with the sound of Pacific Ocean waves.

Had a wonderful, relaxing 3 night stay at this beautiful location again. The views are spectacular, and the hot tub on the deck is a perfect way to enjoy them. We visited last year, and were so happy to return this year. These cabins have all the basics supplies covered to cook your own meals. We do bring our own small barbecue for grilling on the deck though. We found the bed and couch comfortable, and enjoyed using the fireplace with fire logs we brought with us. When you visit here I suggest you bring large towels or robes for hot tub use. Thank you to Maria for sharing this wonderful property with us, hope to return again!

This trip is the third time we have been here after trying it instead of point no point. The draws to this cabin over point no point is the wifi, cable, television, and cost, as well that it reminds us of Mexican hotels with the tile and the feel. 

The owners of the cabin remember us from staying here before and are very nice to deal with. The cabin itself is stunning with beautiful views and a hot tub to die for. This cabin has a very clear view of the ocean unlike their neighbors point no point having to many trees in the way to see. 

Overall this cabin is stunning and worth any romantic outing that you can think of, I just wish it cost a little less. 

After a lengthy search of locations for a mini anniversary getaway to the island, we decided on Fossil Bay Resort based on pictures and other reviews - so GLAD we did! This place is tucked away from the busyness of everywhere else. It's completely private, the deck has it's own private hot tub, the suite has a full kitchen (you just bring your own food to cook) and very comfy bed. Everything was very clean and ready for us. When you are on the deck you hear nothing but birds and the lapping of the ocean down below. Complete peacefulness - just what we needed! We were able to come/go as we pleased, cook the way we want so no need for busy noisy restaurants (and eating with a view of the ocean if another perk!); and got a great night's sleep. It was our first time there and we'll definitely go back some time. The ONLY downside is that it's on the side of the island that if you're looking for a place while you sight-see - it's kinda been there done that; but if you want a private QUIET peaceful relaxing getaway to just get away from it all - this is the place!! Mgmt is quick to respond to questions in the booking process and after. Covid-safe procedures. Nothing bad to say about Fossil Bay Resort. Well done!!

This was at least the 6th or 7th time we have stayed at Fossil Bay Resort, and you know what? It just keeps getting better!
A last minute cancellation led to our 1st Christmas stay here and it was magic. From the no Contact checkin to the very clean cabin and the perfect quiet couple Christmas weekend, with a decorated tree awaiting us, we couldn't ask for more.
Won't be long till we are back!

We were 'sold' on this location based on the on-deck hot tub and king bed features, but there was so much more to enjoy.  The cottages are open and have almost full glass views to the Strait of Juan de Fuca. We were assigned lucky number 3. We needed for nothing in the kitchen. We watched a family of otters one morning playing in the bay.  The resort was full on the days we were there but we heard nothing but the sound of the waves crashing into the shore.  Sitting in the hot tub listening to the waves at night was so very relaxing, even in the rain.

We did some local exploring and there are great beaches and wave-watching action within a few minutes drive further up the highway. We hope to be able to go back again for our 11th honeymoon next year.

Fossil Bay offers nice private cottages for couples with up to two dogs. Private hot tubs on every deck are wonderful ! The cottages are very clean and well stocked. The kitchen offers everything you need to make your meals. The only complaint we had was the bed. The hosts definatly need to invest in new mattresses! the mattress topper smoothed out the lumps but made the  bed too soft, so we removed it during our stay. Replace the aging mattresses, and you've got  five star cottage accommodation with peace, privacy and an amazing ocean view !

Perfect Anniversary Getaway!

We had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful part of the island for a 3 night getaway. Our stay was in cabin 1 , which was a perfect location. Very private with perfect views. Although these cabins are showing a bit of age (aren’t we all) lol, it was very clean and comfortable, perfect for our tastes. The weather cooperated so we were able to explore the area beaches and enjoy the patio and hot tub every day. We brought everything we needed as far as food and beverages so didn’t have any COVID 19 concerns. The check in and out couldn’t be more simple and towel exchange, hot tub maintenance were contactless also. Such a beautiful place. Can’t wait for the opportunity to visit again. Definitely a redo!! Birthday/Anniversary getaway

We appreciated the large open-concept cottage.  Clean, comfortable, and well-equipped.  The large deck is a plus, and of course, the hot tub.  Amazing views.  Totally private.  During our last-day, last hot tub, we watched a whale swim by.  Excellent COVID procedures.  Management was very responsive, friendly, and extremely helpful with our enquiries.  We've been on the road all winter and we found the old leather couch to be the most comfortable yet!  Bonus - the service provider has brought in upgraded internet; the wifi is now fast and reliable.
