A lovely classic Nova Scotia seaside B&B in the most picturesque sectionofShelburne. And Amanda is the perfect host. Rooms are large,  beautifully furnished to match the period setting. 3 choices at breakfast started each day in fine fashion. We certainly will return 

From start to finish, The Cooper’s Inn was exceptional. Amanda was beyond accommodating and responsive, giving us helpful guidance and offering us an easy self check-in option. The property was so lovely and well-decorated, and the room and the bed were extremely comfortable! Breakfast is included the next day, and they made sure to inquire about any dietary needs we had in advance. As a vegetarian, they easily offered a delicious breakfast, and Dawn was so sweet and thoughtful! We loved our stay, and wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone visiting Shelburne!

My wife and I stayed at The Cooper's Inn for 2 nights recently. We had a very comfortable stay; Amanda is a welcoming, gracious innkeeper who provides a fine breakfast every morning. As with any old inn, the rooms are fairly compact - the good ones make up for it in charm, and The Cooper's Inn does not disappoint in that area. We highly recommend it.

Amanda was a very warm and welcoming host. On arrival she invited us to join her and fellow guests for a glass of wine in the garden at 5pm. The Gracie room was large, comfortable and well-furnished with a small bathroom. We had a choice of 3 breakfast dishes, freshly- cooked to order. Private parking was available and restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Overall a really good B&B to which we would happily return.

Our stay at The Cooper's Inn was absolutely wonderful. Our room was very cozy and comfortable with a great Nespreso coffee maker, beautiful clawfooted tub and view of Shelburne Harbour. Amanda was a wonderful host and made amazing breakfasts both mornings. We thoroughly enjoyed our many chats over coffee and feel like she is now a fast friend. Amanda arranged for us to have a delicious dinner at a local restaurant, Charlotte Lane Cafe which was fabulous. We highly recommend both The Cooper's Inn and Charlotte Lane Cafe. 

Everything well thought through and comfortable. The linens, the breakfast, the garden, the welcome, the quiet  - this lovely old inn is top-notch.

Combine with a meal at Charlotte Lane restaurant and everything is perfect.

We enjoyed our 2-night stay at this inn on the waterfront of Shelburne. The room was spacious, comfortable, and quiet. The choices for breakfast were all well prepared — a great way to start the day! Be sure to visit the museums that are just a couple of minutes walk from your room.

I stayed at this place for only one night, coming from the Cat Ferry at Yarmouth and arriving late. They were absolutely helping and kind. The room itself was very nice with real antique furniture and oak floor, comfy and clean with nice views to the garden outside. The place is very quiet and just minutes away from the Sandy Point Lighthouse. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff so kind and welcoming. Definitely would recommend

Centrally located and right on the waterfront. Very clean and up to date. Ample off street parking. Our room was in an annex off the garden. Small but had everything we needed including A/C. Very pleasant young hostess. Breakfast was excellent - three choices; French press coffee.

Our room was light, bright and airy with a view of the water. The house has a lovely laid back vibe and Amanda was very welcoming. The 5pm wine social in the garden was a great way to relax and chat to Amanda and the other guests. It was an excellent way to exchange info about where to go and what to do. We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at The Cooper's Inn

Fabulous weekend in Shelburne at The Cooper's Inn.

Great visit.   It is a special place.  Our room was small but lovely.  The breakfast rooms are sweet and meticulous; the breakfasts were superb.  The garden area is lovely, and the Shelburne waterfront (where the Inn is located) is a beautiful step back in time.  We loved meeting and talking with Amanda, who has done a great job with the inn.

Wonderful place for overnights in Shelburne

As we turned onto Dock Street, I threw my arms wide and exclaimed, "THIS is what I came for in Shelburne!" to which my husband replied, "This is where we're staying!"  Upon entering, we were met by the most charming innkeeper, Amanda, who checked us in and took our breakfast order for the following morning.  Showing us to our room, I asked if I might photograph the empty suites and she generously allowed me to step in.  Shelburne, along this historic district, is a photographer's dream location!  I stepped into the gated garden and was met by a magnificent Tuxedo Kitty, complete with thumbs, most likely of "ship's cats" lineage (also known as Hemingway Cats, or Polydactyl!)  His name is Henry, but "he belongs to everyone-and-no one", is well-fed, and lives life of his own making.  I digress, but a cat-lover will appreciate knowing this!  Our stay was late in the season, so the many museums had closed.  Had they been open, I would have had even more photos, though I came home with many, seen through the fog-shrouded stay.  Those made for exceptional period images of the 1700's homes that seemed to have taken that further step back in time. Would we hope to return on a sunny summer day?  In an instant!  But I'm grateful not to have been distracted from exceptional photography moments of boats disappearing into fog, pearl-laced spider webs, and oak leaves lending framework to rivulets and stone buildings.  Perhaps you can understand why our friends and I can't recommend this Inn highly enough! 5 Stars +++!

A Time-Paused Stroll into the Past

Having never been to Shelborne before my wife and I were overwhelmed by friendliness of all the locals we met. Amanda was at the top of the list! She made our stay at the Cooper’s Inn one of those experiences you never forget. We highly recommend you consider this as a destination stay over. 
Our room more than accommodating, was well kept and was right off the landscaped garden. 
Amanda serves all her guests a complimentary glass of wine at five. A time to meet with other guests and share some experiences you’ve had during your travels. 
A must see is the Cooper's Shop right across the street. George will be happy to explain the construction method used to make barrels. You will love his workshop and the smell of the lumber. 
Another must see is the Dory Shop just a short walk down the street. Brian gave us an amazing tour on the main floor of the different types of Dory’s and how the fisherman would use them. Be sure to venture upstairs to meet with Milford the Master Dory Builder. You may be fortunate enough to be there when he’s building a craft and if you’re eager he may allow you to assist him in someway and sign the boat. 
We highly recommend this area and a stay at the Cooper’s Inn.

Best Stay Ever

Very favourable on all counts but one. Enjoyed our stay but for the description below.

Certainly one of the best if not the best breafasts we've enountered anywhere. Inn and its rooms are quaint and comfortable. Lovely sitting area in the garden, tough it rained during our visit to the area.

The only thing we would caution future visitors not entirely the innkeepers fault. We are light sleepers and the room above was annoyingly noisy. It seemed that the annex rooms were not soundproofed and the neighbour above was some sort of compulsive organizer who opened and closed drawers and moved suitcases until the wee hours. We could hear every movment and bedspring.
