Turner Creek Bed & Breakfast

I stayed at Turner Creek B&B for 3 weeks and I was very pleased and comfortable with the accommodations. The unit I stayed in was very quiet, clean and maintained on a regular basis. The bed was comfortable and the linens were fresh. There was always a delicious variety of fresh bread, baked goods, cereals, jams and fruit for breakfast. The property offers a large garden with a pond and trees. It is close to all amenities and a peaceful walking trail. I would not hesitate to return.

This accommodation is very close to being very good. Host Renae Sandford was very welcoming and her sound local knowledge helped us to make the best use of our one full day in Salmon Arm. There were a few issues with the room which we discussed with Renae and she said she would deal with. Assuming this is so, I would recommend Turner Creek B & B as a friendly, good value option for persons wishing to enjoy the beautiful, peaceful location of Salmon Arm, in which it is set.

Turner Creek B & B Loved It!

3 of us stayed at this B&B for 2 nights in August.  The property had recently changed hands, and initial communication with the new owner was good.  When we arrived we found a note on the door saying there was no contact info, and no arrival time, so please call.  I did give the new owner, Marianne, our approximate arrival time, and we were 30 minutes past that.  I called the surrogate host, and then we waited well over an hour for someone to show up, missing the opening acts of the music festival we were going to.  We did not receive any welcome info at all, such as where to park, or wifi info.  Or any info about breakfast, which was self catering.

When we got into our room it was quite nice, if a little cramped with 3 beds in it.  Lovely view over the gardens, if only the gardens had been kept up.  Looked like nothing had been watered for months.  Room was clean enough, although deck and walls outside were dirty.  

I found a scrap of paper in the kitchen which had wifi info, which was incorrect.  I texted the host and eventually she got back to me with the correct info.

When we returned from the festival at midnight the carport was full.  There is no street parking either.  We could have parked up the street I guess..... but we forged our own spot beside the carport.  

The next morning coffee was on, probably on a timer, since there was no resident host.  We looked in the fridge and found eggs, english muffins, and lots of yogurt.  We looked in the cupboard and a pkg of granola.  No butter, no milk, no variety.  a bowl of overripe fruit on the table.  We did not bother eating there, and when I texted the host, she told me they don't replenish daily, although she did bring in some milk and butter later. Really?  There appeared to be 3 rooms upstairs and at least 2 downstairs, but they don't top up the food?

We stayed the second night without incident and again did not eat breakfast.  The hostess showed up while we were loading our car to leave and proceeded to clean one of the other rooms, and her husband watered the dead plants in the front of the house.

All in all we were very disappointed.  I realize with the change of ownership there were probably issues, but I also learned that Marianne was away on vacation while we were there.

Will not return

The place was run down and had a terrible damp smell that hits you like a brick wall as soon as you walk in. It was quiet and the bed was comfortable, but it had cob webs all over and spiders and potato bugs walking around on the bathroom floor. The best part was when I grabbed a "freshly baked" muffin for breakfast only to find the bottom of it covered in green and white mold. We stayed here during the Roots and Blues festival when all the other accomodations were booked. I would say that sleeping in your car would be a better option.

Stay away!!

I agree with CeeCeeVee - not worth the price! Pictures represent what it could look like if maintained. Cobwebs everywhere, yard was overgrown with weeds. Room had a terrible smell and felt damp. Super 8 is a better option!
