Wonderful weekend stay.  Sebastian and Doreena were more than hosts as they offer all visitors a genuine friendship.  Terrific breakfast and handy location to explore St John.  Highly recommend to all.

Sweet comfy Inn in St John

Location is great, hosts are very friendly and provided good traveling information. They sent us to St-Martins and we also visited the Fundy Parkway. We stayed in the basement rooms. Bed was very comfortable but it was very dated and needs renovations. 

Good location 

Dorina is an incredible host! We had an absolute wonderful time! The breakfasts she prepared were outstanding. She also has a wealth of knowledge of things to do in the area. Great location right around the corner from the Imperial Theatre. 

Host with the Most!

Doreena and Sebastian were as nice as they could be.  They were so welcoming and gave us helpful hints regarding sites and restaurants. The breakfasts were delicious (especially the cheese omelette and her pancakes).

A perfect location in Saint John and wonderful hosts

After reviewing the pictures of the B&B we made reservations for one night for the family room.  Little did we know that we would be in the BASEMENT where the room is nothing like the pictures posted.  It was very dark, dingy and damp.  I killed a few bugs and spiders which was very disgusting.  The twin room had a terrible musty odor and very dark,  The bathtub was horrible and we did not use.  They really should not rent this area out until they can improve the conditions.  They should state that this is a lower level accommodation.  I wish we were able to stay in the beautiful rooms on their website because there have wonderful reviews for them.
Don’t stay until you know for sure where the room is and what it looks like.

Say NO to basement!

My husband and I spent 3 wonderful nights here, in the "Daisy" Room.  The room was spacious and very comfortable.  Yes, the bathroom was a few steps down the hall, but it was ours exclusively, and it is the largest, most elegant bathroom we've enjoyed in our travels.  This historic home is charming, filled with interesting furniture and artwork, but the real charm was with the hosts, Doreena and Sebastian.  Breakfast was made to order, and we enjoyed our several conversations with these two.  They are such interesting and pleasant people!  They gave us lots of good advice and tips on things to do in the area.  We'd definitely go back!

Wonderful experience

After a shocking stay in Toronto, it was a delight to get to this accommodation. Very welcoming, comfortable room, full of character and just a few minutes walk from downtown. Hosts couldn't be more helpful. We are going back here at the end of our tour. 
Highly recommended 

Lovely 

Stayed in the lower level room which was dark and dinghy.  The "suite" we had with kitchen badly needed updating.   The building itself is in a relatively run down area -- street in front was all torn up.   Did not feel the Inn was as it was represented on website.   Positives were that the hosts were very nice, the location great, and the breakfast was good.

Not as expected

The lower-level room has two beds, but the single one is VERY soft. The main room is large. Watch out for the step in the bathroom! The owner was quite friendly and accommodating but overall, it was a bit of a letdown--the room needs some TLC. We got a takeaway breakfast because we had to catch the ferry; breakfast wasn't great, with no protein. Be warned that there is major street construction in the area and parking can be a challenge.

An okay stay

If you're looking for a B&B close to everything this should be your choice.  Next to the Loyalist Cemetery, one block to Kings Park and City Market and a 5-10 minute walk to the waterfront.  Tanners Home has three rooms on the second floor which also houses a refrigerator for guests and a work station.  We rented the Iris Room which has a private bath across the hall.  The private bath was never an issue for us and had all the amenities one would need.  Our room was enormous with beautiful bay windows facing the street.  Breakfast times were staggered due to covid concerns which we greatly appreciated.  Dorina also prepared us a gluten free breakfast.  Sebastian and Dorina are fabulous hosts and were always available for recommendations and suggestions.  Would stay there again in a heartbeat.  If driving a car, ask them about parking options on site.
