Excelent stay, super proper and nice room, very kind and polyte owner. 100% recommanded!
Beautiful view with quiet souroundinds, non-poluted environement with possibility to walk on the montain trails.
The hosts are wonderful - from booking to greeting us, to troubleshooting if necessary. The motel is wonderful for kids and adults alike. 
Good beds, good showers, lots of cooking space and everything you could ever want to make a meal ! 
It's a dream for large groups, too. 
Fire place in the back, world-class cross-country skiing not far, ... it's a winter and summer wonderland. 
Highly recommend this place.

Stopped here in the middle of tourist season in July, last minute change of mind, I was looking for a room and this was the only one available.

Pleasantly surprised, the room was spacious and clean (see picture). There is nothing charming about it but I was only looking for a good night’s sleep and that’s exactly what I got. For $115, this was perfect.

The outside in front does not look that great, clean but really, nothing charming. However, I included the picture of the view from my room - stunning views of the St-Laurent river from your balcony.

The owners do not speak English very well, I had to help with translations, but they are very nice and you’ll figure out easily how to communicate.

If you’re not looking for your hotel to be a destination, this is a perfect option and for the price, perfectly adequate.

There were no hotel rooms available in La Malbaie so the tourist office sent us to the Horizon.  The exterior and the lobby were not promising at all.  However, our room was lovely.  Best of all, we had a balcony overlooking the St. Lawrence River.  There was a restaurant right next door for added convenience.  The front desk clerk spoke limited English but she managed to make us feel very welcome.
