Great ski lodge a short walk from the Red base lodge. Great overall vibe.  This is what ski lodges are supposed to be.   Not for those looking for a generic hotel experience.   Loved the common area, fireplace, and the sauna.   Room was basic but did the job. 

Cool place, great vibe

Had the most amazing stay during Rossland Winterfest. Incredible host, breakfast, soft bed, sauna, drinks out back at the "saloon" with the amazing host, Martin. Walking distance to the hill and the Josie. An incredible time, we will be back!!

A wonderful unique stay!

This multi level, many rooms B&B is full of character and for our 5 night  stay, lovely guests ranging from couples like us, to families, to singles.  Our walk to the slopes was extremely easy.   The entrance room to leave skis then walk into a furnished basement with a pool table where boots dried each night was perfect.   The living area where a fulfilling buffet breakfast is laid out includes a comfy couch and chairs and a beautiful fire each morning and evening.  One night we brought pizza back and watched old Warren Miller ski movies with other guests.  Up another level where most rooms are, ours was cozy in size so my morning yoga was in the walk-in basement and to myself less a curious cat.  But the dressers was sufficient and a bar size fridge and private bath is a plus for us.  Bed was quite comfortable.  Hot water for showers. The place was quiet each evening by 10pm latest.   Hot tub and sauna- what more do you need?   The Host, Martin, is pleasant and ensures his guests are content.  He even builds fires outside which the young families enjoyed.

Funky, comfortable, and complete with key amenities

My husband and I stayed 3 nights here in July. We arrived very late and tired after a 10 hour drive so did not see much. The big king bed was very comfortable and the balcony is a nice touch. There is a mini fridge in the room. Mark prepared a lovely breakfast consisting of fresh berries yogurt, hard boiled eggs, assortments of breads, granolas, cereals and good coffee. The Inn is filled with quirky memorabilia, so fun to look at. The lounge area with fireplace and great vintage seating is inviting with games, puzzles, guitar etc. Hank the resident doggo and Mel Gibson the resident kittie add to the feeling of homeiness. Mark has created a magical meadow in the forest behind the Inn complete with a funky Saloon. He shared a fabulous bottle of wine with us  and told us tales in this unforgettable setting. If you are looking for impeccable cleanliness, modern furniture and sterile environment  you’d be better off at the Josie I wondered the next morning if it was a dream. If you are looking for a unique experience, I would highly recommend Ram’s Head Inn.

Unique, charming delightful Inn

Had the best time at the Ram's Head Inn. First trip to RED mountain and wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else.  Coolest hot tub I have ever seen!! The beds are super comfy and the rooms are so cozy. Love that this place is pet friendly and there are lots of dogs to pet. The complimentary breakfast is very good and the common area is a great place to meet new people. Amazing, friendly staff. Please note: if you are a snob who likes fancy hotels this is not the place for you, go stay at The Josie. However, if you are a fun loving person who wants to socialize and have a unique hotel experience you will love this spot!

This was not the first, nor the last time we booked this cozy Inn! 
The place: charm of the 70's with modern updates. Within walking distance to the lift, clean and functional rooms, good beds, amazing common area with fire place and comfy couches, pool table, wooden! hot tub, sauna, board games, dog friendly, boot dryers, a better continental breakfast  
The people: Martin, team and friends are providing this place its soul, as everyone is invited to hang out in the common area, share their drinks and stories of their outdoor adventures of the day. On powder days the front may be abandoned mid day for periods of times and we all know why :) 
We will be back soon!!

Just like coming home!

Stayed there for 3 nights. Place is a bit outdated, but ok. Staff is friendly (we didn't make any bad experience as other reviews indicated). Our room was spacious had a fridge, own bath. Hot-Tub is small (max. 4 people) but was ok to use (we used it 3 times). Breakfast is served not before 8 am - so if you do cat skiing where they want you to be at their cat ski office by 8 am - you need to have breakfast at the nearby coffee shop. Walking distance to the ski resort/cat ski office is about 8-10 min. so most people will drive to the ski resort parking area. There was free parking/free internet. Again it was not a luxury place, but we would not mind staying there again. Everything was fine for us. 

Nice & ok but nothing special or extraordinary

We spent 3 nights at the Ram's Head Inn for a ski holiday on RED Mountain. The inn is located on-hill but still feels like its nestled in the woods. Our room was clean and comfortable, and we spent time in the common room every evening. We found the inn had a unique family feel to it - staff and other guests were very friendly and faces became familiar between breakfast, hot tubbing, and board games by the fireplace. We made use of the BBQ to cook dinners (the inn staff provided dishes and cutlery on request). The breakfast was great - a true continental breakfast with options including cold cuts, cheese, fruit, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt and cereal. We rarely find free breakfasts are filling (or healthy) enough, but this did the trick for two ski days! The cedar barrel hot tub is a major highlight. We will definitely be back!

Cozy inn with an excellent hot tub and super friendly atmosphere

Hard to find Spots like this n this day and age of Corporate controlled World we naively have embraced. Reminded me of Jasper in the 70’s very Chill Town too the Skiing art Reds old School also with very challenging terrain and beginner friendly runs in equal parts.

Loved it!

Disappointed with the stay. The whole place is in need of a refurbishment, run down to say the least. 
Light bulbs out in the room, no where to hang clothes, no draws to put clothes in, had to put my clothes on the only table in n the room! 
The breakfast was very disappointing and dogs and a cat walking in and out of the kitchen is not very hygienic at all.
The downstairs boot room with pool table was more like a storage room with junk all over. 
Everyone to there own but I would not stay there or recommend anyone to stay there.  Stay in one of the new hotels or apartments at the bottom of the mountain.
