Totally enjoyed our stay at the Hostel. Thank you Sharon, you were lovely and we appreciated everything indeed. Got confused trying to find the place a few times, but with your help we did managed to get back and forth from the Hospital. :) All is going good re: Brothers operation. Hopefully will get back to St. John to have a nice visit one day...looks like a real nice City and the people are super friendly. Cheers, Linda, Arlene and Albert. This was my first hostel experience and I have nothing negative to say about it. I was so impressed by the cleanliness and upkeep, but the biggest surprise to me was how well stocked the kitchen was! I had brought a bit of food hoping I could find a way to eat some of my own stuff instead of eating out all the time. I was really just worried about finding a bowl, but there was so soooo much stuff (utensils, dishes, pots & pans, fridge space) that I could have cooked for neighbourhood. I really appreciate that while on the road.
As a female traveling alone I felt very safe here, and saved lots of money instead of paying for a hotel room. My only worry is that this hostel set me up to have too high of expectations for future hostels. If I had more time, I would have loved to stay longer and socialize with others staying there or with the owner, I only stayed 2 nights and tried to see the city as much as possible. The location is great, within walking distance of so much to do & the megabus station. Having my own key and a place to leave my stuff while I toured the town was so important. I hope that I can stay again in the future.

The new location is still being renovated and fixed up, but the stay was everything I expected from a hostel. Close to downtown and to the Maritimes Bus and a nice kitchen, bedroom and staff person working. If you don't need a fancy hotel and don't want to spend too much money, stay here. You won't be disappointed.

Went to visit family at the Hospital for a few days.

A travelers dream spot

I've stayed at many hostels and this was the first time I've ever left because of feeling scared to stay.  When I arrived, the door was locked but then jiggled open, which did not make me feel better.  There was not one person inside. There was dirty furniture in the hallway, holes in the walls, and an unfinished bathroom.  I looked for the office, but couldn't find it. Instead I found an unlocked entrance to the roof and a room with dirty sheets and shoes everywhere.  I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I ended up having to find last minute accommodations in the area. It seemed like it was under construction or just a front. Definitely would not recommend.

Wish I Could Give Less Than One Star

Really sketchy, I've stayed at tons of hostels and as soon as I walked into this one I wanted to leave- never experienced that before. It smells bad, my bed smelled like feet and it was really dirty. Would not recommend to anyone, you would be better off staying in your car.
