It is an excellent place to be in Quebec City, it is very central and you can get everywhere by walking, the staff is very friendly and the place is very clean, I highly recommend it.

Great experience, super friendly staff and perfect for a short stay.

This cozy hostel in the heart of the old Québec City is perfect for travellers. It is within walking distance of the charming city's main touristic attractions. The staff is really kind and very accommodating. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend other travellers to stay here as well.

Only great things to say. The location is perfect, the staff are friendly, the place is tidy and beautiful. The outdoor courtyard was magnificent. The proximity to the different attractions allowed me to visit everything I wanted to. 

Auberge de la paix lives up to its name. Even though it seemed close to maximum occupancy, being the weekend, it was still very peaceful because it is spacious. The dorm bed was super comfy and all the bathrooms are sparkling clean! This hostel has just changed ownership and Louis-Charles was very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.

The building is most authentic. Very nice place.

Extremely comfortable and convenient!

Tranquil vibe & big gorgeous courtyard!

The management and service were surprisingly good and friendly,  running in the true spirit of a youth hostel and the generosity of the good old 1970s. The location is superb, situated at the heart of the old town with most everything within 5-15 minutes walking distance.! Every corner of the venue has been well maintained, reasonably clean and well ventilated,  considering that an old building. The place is fun, vibrant, and yet peaceful.Area of improvement:1-breakfast, 2-bedding  and blankets :3-the bathroom can be cleaner.All in all, I have a wonderful stay and will stay there again.

A friendly place with well equipped kitchen

The location is fantastic, right in the heart of old Quebec, in walking distance to everything. The person who checked me in wasn’t the friendliest, but my second day I asked someone else for an extra pillow and they happily gave me one. I was told someone would be there 24/7 but when I checked out at 7am there was no one, so I had to leave my sheets at the desk to catch my train. The mattress is atrocious. I’m not sure it even constitutes as a mattress, it’s vinyl. Typical flat hostel pillow, and the room only has a small fan so it gets very hot for the summer. The rooms also don’t have locks, so anyone can enter any room. The doors are kept open during the day to cool down the rooms, so not the best security.

Great location, not much else

All facilities in the hostel were good except the sound of closing door from other room was too loud. The location is very strategic and close to the tourist attractions. But if you plan to walk to go to this hostel from the train station, you will be very surprised that you have to walk uphill and it will be very tiring if you bring big luggage, I suggest you get a taxi to save your energy.

Simple but cute. Staff service not great but doing their job. Seemed like they wanted to sell me the private room. They said on the phone that this is Only available. Only I saw that there were normal dormitory beds. Booked that online and it was OK when I arrived. A bit odd. The stay was good though. Breakfast included but only cereales. Would recommend. I stayed here for 4 nights in a 6 bed female dorm, in room 317. This is such a cute place! The lady that checked me in was very thorough in giving all details about how the place was run, where everything is, and so on. Note that you will be required to leave a $5 deposit for bedding and linens, that is returned upon check out.

In the rooms, the beds are very narrow, plastic and hard, so not the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. The room does get stuffy overnight with the door shut, but it was not unbearable. During the day, with the doors and windows open, there is a beautiful cross breeze throughout the whole building, eliminating the need for air conditioning (It was about 26 Celsius during the day during my stay). The lockers are large, but you will need your own lock. Make sure you bring one to lock up valuables, because the bedroom doors do not lock. There are no individual bunk lights, but there are power outlets beside the bunks.

The whole place was quiet and very clean. The showers and toilets were separate, and I never waited for either, even though there were a lot of guests. The shower stalls on the third floor are the smallest I’ve ever seen, but there are other showers throughout the building that were normal size. I never ran out of hot water, and water pressure was fine. The WIFI was strong, though sometimes weak on the third floor. The breakfast was coffee, cereal and toast. Their kitchen set up is great – there are dining tables, and each had bread, a toaster, and condiments on them. This is a very efficient way to keep the breakfast crowd moving without everyone having to wait for only a couple toasters. Well done!

The location was fantastic. The hostel is located on a quiet side street, but walk around the corner and you are in one of the liveliest areas of the city.

I really enjoyed my stay here, I will definitely return!

Great place!

Auberge de la paix is the center of Old Quebec city easy to access  around. Staffs are very friendly, helpful  and knowledgeable. WiFi is very low signal if you stay on the 3flr it could not catch it and breakfast will be the same everyday as bread and marmalade, cereal and milk and apple juices.Overall, it is very valuable.

Great Location

This is a hostel and very affordable for the location, so it's ridiculous to expect luxury. The breakfast consisted of cereal, toast, and coffee, self-serve style; it's not fantastic but is great if you're trying to save money. I also found the staff reasonably friendly if you were polite. Although I don't particularly like not being able to lock the doors to dorms at night or when you're away, that's not surprising for a hostel.

That said, the mattresses and pillows were pretty uncomfortable. We woke up with headaches the next morning. There also is no air conditioning, which can make things miserable in the summer time.

I would stay again if it went in cooler weather and brought my own pillow. Otherwise, I might look elsewhere.
