Great location in old Quebec City, within walking distance to everything! We stayed 4 nights and the beds and pillows were comfortable and the host recommended several several restaurants nearby that were locally owned and served traditional food. 

This hotel is a great option. It is very basic, nothing fancy... but it is a great value. It is clean,  safe, quiet, perfectly located,  and fairly priced. There is garage parking available for an additional $15 CAN per day. It is not adjacent, but a few blocks away. I found that very convenient. 

Okay, this review is not about a hotel in Orlando, San Francisco, Cabo, or Phoenix.  We wanted the REAL Old Quebec experience, and we got it. That meant an interesting drive just getting TO this inn, as it was opening day of Winter Carnaval and many streets were either blocked off or flooded with tourists.  But we picked our way through the narrow, snowy streets.  And every one around us was in a good mood, so we were too. Fortunately, there’s a fairly-wide drive way across the street from the inn, and our hostess told me to pull in there. (I don’t know how some of the other small inns in old QC can handle unloading....the streets are narrow and there are very few driveways like this one). Unloaded the family and luggage, then got my parking voucher and parked in the municipal garage at city hall, a wonderful 10 minute walk away. Okay——so you check in at the shop on the ground floor. That’s classic Old Quebec!  Upstairs to the huge family room with two queen beds. It stretches from front of building to back. It’s a fantastic,1850 inn. It hasn’t been bastardized. Is it perfect and pristine?? I said 1850!  Of course it’s not.  But we loved it.  (And the bathroom HAS been nicely modernized, with two sinks and an awesome shower.) It was very clean, and the beds were great. Three biggest things: awesome location, in the very heart of the Old Upper City.  We could easily walk to everything, including the parade....and considering that it was a very cold evening, we were very happy to back at the inn after a five minute walk. Second, all the staff spoke excellent English (and tolerated my French.....). Lyne was awesome to talk to and is so nice.  Finally, we were stopped from getting there our first night, due to a raging blizzard (we almost made it, but the Trans Canada was closed at 4 pm). When we called Lyne, she had every right to charge us for that night anyway, but she graciously did not. Class act. Sa coche! (As for price, we paid about $200, but that was about $50 more than usual due to Carnaval....which was totally reasonable). We will be back in the summer and will stay at this little gem. (If you want a place that’s just like every Courtyard by Marriot in any city, this is not the hotel for you....)

We went to Quebec for 3 days and this hotel was in a prime location. Everything within walking distance... great restaurants and a epicerie (grocery store) just around the corner.  We stayed in the suite and it was a great size for our family.

If you are looking for a place to stay in 'Old Quebec City' look no further.

This is a quaint old hotel with spacious rooms and very clean. The welcome / check-in was very friendly.

It's location is perfect for exploring Old Quebec.

Parking - we used the underground car park at Hotel de Ville. Only a few minutes walk to the hotel and plenty of spaces

Right in the middle of it all!  Great location and easy walking distance. It's a walk up, so pack light.  It can be a little noisy on the weekends because it is in the middle of the touristy Old Town. It's a little worn at places … but that just adds to the ambience of the Old Town feeling.  Reception is friendly and gives good information. Stayed 2 nights.

Fantastic Old Quebec experience

Amazing location

Great location to walk everywhere.  However, there are no elevators and our room was on the second floor which meant we had to drag our luggage up 2 flights of stairs.  We had big suitcases since we were departing from Quebec on a cruise.  We were traveling with another couple and there were two buildings side by side and we were in different buildings.  Great restuarants close by.

Friends and I were traveling to Old City Quebec for a long weekend. My first time there. Lovely place to be, but the inner city hotel can leave a lot to be desired especially if you are accustomed to the relatively modern hotel offerings of the US.

It was interesting - the check in happened in a souvenir storefront, and the entrance to our room was back off the alley! LOL Reminded me of the 1970s rooming at the Jersey shore boarding houses! LOL Had our own bathroom thank God and the room was relatively clean if not modern - but drunken singing at night was all around! LOL

Old City up close but not personal

If you’re looking for a no frills hotel in the heart of Old Quebec, look no further. This place offers location, location, location...and not much else. Reasonably priced (by Old City standards) as a result. Dingy, dark rooms with little air circulation - I found it stifling sometimes; and lots of stairs. But you’re here to see the city right? Get out of the hotel and enjoy the sites. Makes for a beautiful vacation!

The lady who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. She then showed us to our room, which was out the shop front door and right, past the next shop and into an alley. In this alley were all the trash bins for the nearby restaurants. Our room was in the converted out house next to this alley on the ground floor. The room was very tatty and in need of updating into the 20th century. Every night, late and early morning the bins were moved noisily outside our window. The staircase to the upper floors went past our front door. Creaky floorboards and paper thin walls to the stairwell and the floors above added to the extra noise. The one positive is the location in the upper old town. For £150 a night this is a poor choice.
