Staff was very accommodating. Facility was quiet and rooms were clean. We'll make it our place to stay on return to Port Hardy in the future. Great view, watch bald eagles right from hostel. Beautiful murals around the hostel. Again staff was great

Stayed in one of the private rooms within the hostel portion.   They have what looks to be a very nice/well equipped kitchen/common area, but I arrived too late and had to leave too early to take advantage of any of that.   

The room itself is very home-like.  Clean throughout, comfortable bed, very roomy armoire/closet for my clothes.   I felt more like I was visiting one of my friends/relative's house.   Both the younger lady that checked me in and the older gent when checking out/leaving were both very friendly and helpful.   Next time I find myself travelling through the area, I'll certainly stay here.

I would highly recommend this hostel. I stayed for one night in 2015 and it's bad manners I'm only getting round to writing this now! 

Anne and Rob have been doing this for years and they seem to be one of the most popular stops for pre- and post- ferry travelers. I came in on the ferry late at night with a stinking cold, sneezing and shivering. I had booked a bed in a 6 bed dorm but Anne bumped me into a private at no cost (I think partly worried about me infecting all her guests - which I heartily appreciate!). She also opened up their attached cafe (which was locked up for the evening) to find me some camomile tea. She was extremely solicitous and kind, very worried about me. 

Traveling solo as I was, it meant a lot, and a night in a cosy, clean bed made a lot of difference! Thank you so much for your kindness - never forgotten!

This is an easy to find hostel right downtown.  Very convenient for exploring the town.

The dorms and bathrooms are spacious and very clean. There's a massive common room with a couple of sofas, tables & chairs, air hockey, books, huge TV & tons of movies on DVD, and a reasonably sized well equipped kitchen.
The managers (husband & wife team?) are super friendly & welcoming.  They also have a coffee / snack shop on the ground floor where the locals / their friends seem to drop in to spend a few hours chatting.
Like many people who stay here, I was catching the BC Ferries boat to Prince Rupert.  The ferry terminal is something like 10km away, there's no public transport & the Summer departure time is something insane like 6AM.  No worries; the locals have organised a bus pick up services ($8 exact change).  My fellow hostellers and I were downstairs a bit before the appointed pick up time of 5AM.  There was the manager, bright & cheery at this hour, urging us to have a coffee on him.  We stood around in his shop, with our backpacks in the street, sipping coffee & chatting with him as if 5AM were the ideal time to socialise.  
Right on time a big yellow Canadian / American style school bus showed up to take us to the ferry terminal.

A group of 6 of us shared a dorm the night before the NCT. The staff were friendly and the rooms & bathrooms were clean. There was a large common area with plenty of games, movies & pingpong tables. We had to catch the water taxi first thing in the morning and the hostel is located minutes away from the port.
We couldn't not have asked for a better stay!

Stayed one night before catching the ferry to Prince Rupert (early start!) Friendly reception, private room with share bathroom and kitchen, lounge area. Clean and spacious room, very friendly reception and very good value. Limited places to eat within easy walking distance, had good meal and craft beer at Sporty Bar and Grill nearby. Recommended.

Clean, well appointed with movies, books, games- good size kitchen with good tools.  
Downside is steep stairs which makes it difficult with heavy packs, especially if meet other on stairs.  only 1 Communal bathroom with 3 triple rooms, plus the private room to share shower and 3 triple rooms to share the same shower room with toilet.
