Everything is so clean and luxueux but the toilet tissue is awfully cheap.

An excellent hotel as a base for Charlevoix.  The staff are friendly,professional and helpful. Our upstairs suite was spacious and very comfortable.  The Hotel's restaurant is very good.

While we were too late to enjoy dinner in dining room, we were able to dine next door at their new bistro and that was terrific. It was a lovely stay and I look forward to coming back.

The inn is beautiful with updated rooms. It was clean, quiet, comfortable with a perfect mattress and thick towels. The price for the inn was a bargain for the area. The location is also great- on a side road with the St Lawrence River across the street. The real jewel of the inn, however, is the restaurant. Even if you don't stay at the inn, you should treat yourself to dinner or breakfast here. My husband and I had the fixed price 7 course dinner and breakfast, and both meals were incredible.  This is the sort of inn that is worth making a return trip to. 

We were fortunate to choose this boutique heritage hotel just outside La Malbaie centre.It has been modernised in an elegant way,There is a financial incentive to reserve directly with the hotel rather than through a third party.
We chose a standard room on third floor  - sloping roof and dormer window - small but very cosy yet reasonably priced for what was a two night stay where we would be absent during the day.
.Importantly the mattress pillows and bedlinen were of high quality.There was a coffee machine. 
The only drawback there was no lift.
The breakfast was very reasonably priced  CAN$17 per person for a sumptuous and generous breakfast.With a forfait you paid the same price for an exceptional Sunday brunch

Pleasantly surprised with the the entire property.

The service was spectacular, attentive and professional. The logistics were clearly superior to many check-in and other experiences at a short stay.  Everyone from host, reception to wait staff knew we were staying for a night that included a dinner and a breakfast.  One friend could not come at the last minute, and they did not miss a beat. The invoice was re-adjusted upon check-out!  The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable.

The restaurant on site was outstanding with professional wait staff, who demonstrated both knowledge and passion about their menu. The menu was a fixed 5-course menu with diverse selections of meat, seafood, and vegetarian dishes with wonderful flavours.  Check out the menu before coming! And if you're staying at the hotel, the price for the meal .... wait for it .....$75! Value and indulgence at the same time. 

Fabulous. The room was Spotlessly clean. Their restaurant is excellent. In the evening we ate a great filet mignon that was perfectly cooked and the  breakfast was excellent as well.

We didn’t realize that the rooms were up the set of stairs that opens to a busy restaurant. It wasn’t a problem for me, but it was a surprise.The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well appointed with nepresso coffee. We had dinner at the restaurant on our last night and it was the best meal we had in our 5 days in Quebec. Both food and service were exceptional!

We liked the quaint, cozy, feel of our room on the third floor, however, walking up three flights of steep stairs with all our luggage was dizzying and difficult. The narrowness of the door frame to enter the bathroom was shockingly small. I understand that it’s an old house converted into and inn, however, if they want an excellent 5 star rating, then they should have porters to bring your luggage up and down.

Chez Truchon is easily the best place I have ever stayed in away from home. 0 complaints about it. The staff all speak english well, the staff is very friendly, I had an issue checking out but the front desk explained what I needed to do and it was perfect. The location is gorgeous, quiet, and safe. Just a perfect place in all areas! A must stay!

We have been coming from NH to La Malbaie for the last 6 years and Chez Truchon is our FAVORITE restaurant!!  Lets start with the food....we usually choose the 4 course dinner for $42 canadian and the quality and taste is so delicious!! They have a extensive wine list and our favorite is La Vendemia which you cannot find in the USA.  We have favorite servers Michael and Paul who work so hard to make one's dining experience truly memorable!!  Also, they have a great fireplace to dine by and the servers are very attentive to make sure the customers are comfortable sitting by the fireplace.  They even speak English and have English menus which is very helpful:).  This restaurant deserves to be number one in La Malbaie and we look forward in coming back every year to dine at this number 1 restaurant in our book!! 

"Outstanding food and service!"

Nice and comfortable hotel in La Malbaie. Hotel was over our expectations with excellent beds, good but quite expensive breakfast (brunch on Sunday) and well cleaned room. Unfortunately, the highly prized restaurant by other customers, was already fully booked for the evening when we arrived at four in the afternoon  as there are a lot of restaurant customers not staying in the hotel. Only possibility to have dinner already at 5:30, which was to early to us, but we could check the quality of food during brunch the next morning. Service in the restaurant and the hotel reception a little bit chaotic... Other negative point is that the hotel has no lift. Fortunately our room was at level +1.

Good hotel for a stay in Charlevoix

We had a late reservation and we were given a room at the third floor and it was fantastic ! The room was large and very well decorated ,everywhere was spotless !
Even better we discorer that being at the top floor ,it was very quiet even with a full restaurant.
Very interesting place to discover ,don't hesitate to stop in .

We really enjoyed our petite table d'hote dinner. I had the Beef Wellington that was tender, cooked to perfection and accompanied by crispy fries and delicious vegetables. The carrot, green beans and beets tasted like freshly harvested vegetables from my organic garden in the Eastern Townships!  In the middle of the winter we enjoyed the full flavour of top quality vegetables. The green salad was dressed with a dressing that tasted like roasted vegetables. It was simple, unusual and delicious. My partner had the maple flavoured mignon de porc that he found tender and very tasty. He also especially appreciated the vegetables that accompanied his dish. We liked our dessert the least, only because we were very full from the generous portions of our meals and were not quite ready to savour a very sweet chocolate brownie studded with slabs of white chocolate and garnished with whipped cream and fruit. We did finish every crumb though!  The service was impeccable throughout, discreet and attentive, the timing of the dishes perfectly adapted to the pace of our feasting.

The quality of ingredients and artistry in preparation was evident in every bite
