Everything is said in the title the establishment lives on sir story the house is splendid everything is frozen inside we were lucky enough to be physically welcomed what is not the case for all (key available on the desk with a small word to locate the room) no contact with the other tenants or the staff that shines by its absence small but very clean room tiny bathroom as well as the shower (over d1 m75 abstain) and breakfast imagine how a basket on the fridge with a chocolate bread under a growing plastic muffin we were not even a copy of each head is a ping room a coffee machine in the table with 2 cups that you were waiting for if you didn't have to get off of the dining room

The reception is very friendly as in all parts of Quebec. The house is as they say. Like all the houses at the same time there is no sound insulation. Tadoussac is a tourist factory.

The small guesthouse has a very personal atmosphere and is located in the middle of the village. From the garden you have a beautiful view of the bay. Due to the pandemic, breakfast is unfortunately only available in bags. The rooms are small but clean. The hosts take great care of their guests.

What a wonderful place

Poorly maintained, old house, with old furnitures and noisy squeaky bed. No aircon, no microwave, no tv, no ventilation, no proper mirror (tiny mirror you need to put on the pillow so you can see yourself- see photo). No service and absent staff. No internet service. Horrible breakfast food (a hot deceiving when you say breakfast and they serve food for 3 year olds lunch box (a small apple, a small yogurt cup, tiny croissant or muffin, a processed cheese). Never cleaned the rooms and never gave any services.

Bad place, Not recommended

I agree with several other visitors: this is an ancestral home that has become a pure business. This b&b is so full of admiration for its own family history that there is no more room for kindness to customers. Yes, the house is old, pretty, clean and well located. But it lacks charm because you don't feel welcome. Also, COVID is a great excuse for the owners of Norma to minimize customer service: no housekeeping in the rooms, you have to insist on having clean cups and if you want clean cups - well, rinse them as if they were in your lavatory. But the most disappointing thing is that it's near lunchtime: placing them in a refrigerator, but not in the same room, but in the same room with the owner of the house, and if you're not in the same room with the owner of the house, and if you're not in the same room with the owner of the house, and if you're not in the same room with the owner of the house, then you're not going to have the same kind of coffee, and if you're not in the same room with the owner

Very nice house, very well located. Nothing to say about the room, nice bed. But for breakfast in a bag, it's really ugly. We understand the situation with the covid but there are limits. Nothing really interesting or nourishing. The contents of the bag are disappointing. The previous inns at Lake St. John have been able to adapt to the context with a brio. This is not the case here.

In 2005, we were delighted with the hospitality and the quality of the breakfast. So we decided to book again in this nice bed and breakfast. This time, given the sanitary measures, breakfast was not served in the dining room. The food was placed in a small bag placed in a refrigerator at the reception. Our coffee had to be made directly in the room. The contents of the lunch bag were disgusting: prepackaged mini-muffins, square cheese, juice from D'Oridea, Del Monte bar style salad cut, tender Kellogg's, kiwi. No house. We went to the restaurant. For an establishment that was also served early, it was inadmissible. Otherwise, you hadn't been able to get up to eat very well from our room.

A disappointing second visit

Our choice of this Maison was based on its location overseeing the Bay, its proximity to the heart of Tadoussac and its ancestral charm. We had booked for 3 nights. We met the Hovingtons upon arrival only and were requested to pay upfront. The Receptionist (saw her also that day only) was unfriendly. She informed us that the breakfast area is closed due to COVID. A "to go" breakfast would be offered in lunch bags (in a fridge at Reception). We asked a toaster and boiler be availed - a coffee machine is in the room but we drink tea. She finally brought a boiler - we never saw the toaster. 
We were given a tight room facing the rear parking lot. The floor was not leveled and squeaky. The bed was comfortable but squeaked at the slightest move; sheets were made of polyester which was problematic for me. The next day, I saw a cleaning lady working in a (just-freed) room with a view on the Bay. She was the only nice person we met at this Maison! She conveyed to Mrs. Hovington our wish to move to that better room, one which was granted. 
For the remaining duration of our stay, there was no housekeeping. Our room never got cleaned and towels never got changed although we had left them in the tub as indicated. No owner was around to interact with for local tips or other. 
The Maison has its classic beauty and good view alright but it is devoid of real presence and warmth. We left without a regret or wish to return one day.

Beauty Without a Soul

The Hovington house is very nice and well located. But if you're a little fat and you can't shower, the bathroom in the blue room is smaller than a Mimi wardrobe. The toilet doesn't flush well. The king bed is two simple, glued beds, so there's a hole between the beds besides being uncomfortable. You hear the other rooms very well. The price of the room is way too expensive, it's not worth $180 a night. The lunch included was terrible. The house is very nice and the view is beautiful but it's not worth the cost. I don't recommend this BB.
