Beautiful historic property and the spa was exceptional

Very unique and a bit of old school. The grounds are really lovely and there is wide lake frontage with a spectacular view. The staff are very warm, helpful and welcoming. The rooms are clean,comfortable and very quiet The food is very good and there is many menu choices to pick from. I enjoy staying at this resort everytime and look forward to the next stay. Thankyou

Everything was just as stated in all the other reviews. The bed was perfect. Check in was convenient and fast. No issues!

Beautiful waterfront property with great views from the dock.   Friendly staff, excellent food and dog friendly.

A lovely experience.. Staff was attentive, warm and friendly .. the resort itself is a little dated yet overall charming.. would absolutely return for another visit!

Great wedding venue, but needs a paint brush and new carpets in certain areas.

We enjoyed our stay at the Briars for the Georgina Marathon.  It was convenient for shuttle service to the event. Unfortunately, the pool, sauna and hot tub were closed for repairs.  We were looking forward to using these, so were disappointed.  We had a lovely room.  Breakfast buffet was pretty good.  The outside area was beautiful.

The Briars is a lovely old resort in the heart of cottage country. Its charm is in its history and gorgeous gardens. It must have been the place to be in its heyday. Exploring around the property showed the signs of disuse. The tower lookout windows were covered in spiderwebs making it hard to see out, the tennis court had weeds coming through the asphalt, and the outdoor pool was covered in tarps. Service wise, the computers went down Sunday morning so I waited 1 hour to get breakfast and finally left without one. The same with checkout…no printed bill. The Briars needs a redo…

The Briars is in a lovely location in the Jackson Point area of Georgina, ON.  It is a historic property on lovely grounds.  As an EV driver, I was glad that they have chargers.Staff were friendly and efficient.  My room was very comfortable and clean.  I would say that the property is dowdy and could use some updating.  The bathrooms were functional, but could use updated fixtures.  That said, I would stay again.

Overall, it was a good experience. They were very accomodating for our marathon weekend by having a special take out breakfast the morning of the race.The staff were friendly.The pool and hottub area was nice with a sauna.Dinner was very tasty.The resort is "tired" and many updates needed but they are working away at it. An increible historical building that needs a lot of maintenance!

Lovely experience, friendly staff

We had a wonderful stay at the Briars resort for new years eve (3 couples).  The food was excellent!  The staff were all very friendly and accommodating.   I found the prices were good for what we got (2 nights in a suite, 2 breakfasts & 2 dinners and a DJ for new year's eve).   This was my 3rd time going and I absolutely love it there.   I want to thank all the staff for giving up their new years eve by working, we all had an amazing time !

A receptionist provided with all information and helped to pick up the best procedures. Thank you so much.
Great thank to Denise who is a beauty therapist. She is very professional and has wonderful magic hands.

Amazing spa day.

The Briars Resort and Spa was the location for a wedding reception that we attended. As the weather was perfect, this reception was to be in a large tent on their immaculate kept grounds. The trees and flowers were well tended to and showed the care that their grounds staff lavished. The food and beverage for this event were excellent and managed by their Food and Beverage Manager David and his staff. I can say with all sincerity that he and his staff went above and beyond expectation. We would highly recommend this venue for anyone looking for a place to host their receptions, etc.
P.S. We did not stay overnight at this resort, so cannot comment on the rooms.

Excellent Wedding Reception Venue

My sister and I went to The Briar's for a girls weekend away and the hotel did not disappoint. The staff were so helpful and friendly especially Danielle, Ben & Becka.
Make sure you take the Manor House History Tour, Nature Walk and Lantern Lit Tour and the Scavenger Hunt (so much fun) The resort is steeped in history dating back to late 1800 and Ben & Becka are so knowledgeable about the resorts history as well as the towns history. The meals in all the restaurants were exceptional. Breakfast was included and we had the breakfast buffet and we also ordered from the menu. The food was so fresh and tasty and the service was always great. All the staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable  and treated us like old friends and not guest.

Great Weekend Getaway close to Toronto

My wife and I spent 3 wonderful days at The Briars over the Family Day long weekend. It was our first visit and certainly not our last. We were well received upon arriving. Our room was nice, clean with all the amenities needed and a nice view of Lake Simcoe. The bed was Uber comfortable. There were plenty of activities for the guests during the weekend. We had a historical tour of the place with the GM, it was truly fascinating. We also did some cross country skiing and snowshoeing  at no extra cost. The character and history elevated the resort beyond any Marriot or Hilton. Our stay was an all inclusive with meals. Breakfasts had many options including omelettes. Dinners were  very good with excellent variety. One evening they missed our order and we had to wait roughly 40 minutes for our entrees. However, realizing the oversight, staff provided complimentary wine and post dinner drinks to our room. Management was fully aware that “service is king”. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. We also took advantage of the spa facilities which were incredibly unwinding. We would highly recommend The Briars and plan to return in the summer months for a golfing weekend.
