We had a good stay. Bob was very helpful and gave us a lot of suggestions on what to do.The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was quite ample

The owners Rob and Brenda were delightful and very helpful-suggesting restaurants, making a reservation, etc. The place was very comfortable with a lovely deck and garden. Great location for restaurants and near the water. Prefer this place to the generic hotel I have to move to as part of a tour group!

Very accommodating owner. Our stay needed to be reduced by one night because if last minute ferry reschedule  The owner was kind to refund us for one night even after deadline for change/cancellation was paaaed

This guest house is well situated for anyone wishing to visit the town on foot. Signal Hill and the Newman Wine Vaults are both a 2-km walk in opposite directions. In between, you have the Commissariat, the Colonial Building, the Rooms, etc. Note the free parking on Military Rd. 

The house itself offers clean and comfortable rooms, with or without bathrooms. For those without, there is one on the 3rd floor. Also on the same floor is a laundry room that guests can use. Note that rooms on this floor tend to be a tad stuffy in hot weather. Fans are available. 

Continental breakfast (toast, bagels, croissants, cereals, hard-boiled eggs, yoghurts) is served every morning in the kitchen. One can choose to eat outside on the back patio overlooking the nice garden. In the evening, it was nice to have access to the microwave and warm up a supper. 

The owner who lives next door was quite friendly and made a point of talking with the guests. 

Overall, an enjoyable stay in a comfortable inn with a nice garden!

Pleasant and comfortable 

Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights in this charming old house in a great location - walking distance to all the things we wanted to do and see in St Johns surrounded by trees and garden. Helpful welcoming host good self yourself breakfast and tea and coffee and common space always available. we also had a large suite with a 4 poster bed. Delightful

Wonderful B&B in lovely location

We stayed here for the location. It is walkable to downtown and right by a large park. Driving in St. John's is not my favourite so walkable is a priority for me. The rooms were very comfortable. I stayed in several different rooms as I came and went from St. John's. The cold breakfast was great for a fast bite in the morning. If you want a hot breakfast there is a great coffee shop on the same block that has great options.

Rob is a great host, even before I’d seen my room, I knew this was going to be good. Rob took me for a quick tour of St John’s on the way to get my car from where I’d parked it, ( not knowing parking was right in front). When I did get to my room, I was so impressed. I’d been given the Bonavista room, which while being at the front of the building, I did not find it too noisy. My sleep every night, has been better than at home. 
Breakfast is self-service, cereal, bagels, pastries, boiled eggs, yoghurt and fresh fruit. 
This guesthouse is easy to reach from the airport, only 10 mins away. It’s close to everything you’d want to see in St John’s. I can’t rate it highly enough.

Great place in St John’s

The Elizabeth Manor is a lovely guesthouse with comfortable rooms and a convenient setting.  Breakfast items are available and can be enjoyed on a lovely outside terrace.  Plenty of sites and restaurants are within walking distance.  We experienced unsurpassed hospitality from the hosts who did everything to make us comfortable and at home.  The room was spacious with an en suite bath (not all rooms have them) but one could also relax on the terrace, on lawn chairs in the garden, or in the comfortable common areas.  Overall a wonderful experience!

Wonderful hospitality and great location!

Property is very well cared for and hosts clearly care about the building and their guests. Minor point -- the room we stayed in did not have hooks for outerwear (coats). And there was only one tiny garbage bin in the washroom. Not a problem for single night stays, but we stayed three nights. Otherwise great.

The Elizabeth Manor is a lovely, comfortable accommodation that is ideally located off the downtown area of St. John's. Our room, Trinity Bay, on the second floor, was great--spacious, bright, well-equipped. It's self-catering, so guests are on their own--breakfast items are available downstairs in the dining/kitchen area. The hosts, Rob and Brenda, are very genial and are a phone call away if you need them. They were  quick to respond when we asked for something. We think you get good value for your money and we recommend it. The only reason we don't give it five stars is that the hosts don't cook a breakfast, but if that's not an issue for you we don't think you can go wrong here.

An excellent choice in St. John's

Beautiful house, very friendly and helpful host, great breakfast and a nice terrace to eat it on, easy self check-in, very convenient location within walking distance of the town center. Our room was very hot at night, though and the fan was a bit too loud to run all night. Probably not a very common problem here, but if the summers keep being this warm, it may be worth investing in a quieter fan.

We stayed 3 nights and loved the house and location.  Rob, our host was very friendly and extremely helpful.  We stayed in the largest en-suite room on the main floor, which was very spacious, the beds we are comfortable, and had quality linens and toiletries.  The only issues we had were with the tiny sink in the bathroom, which made it hard to use because the water splashed everywhere.  Our room had a flat screen TV with cable, and great internet.  There were 2 queen beds and a nice sofa bed.  A couple of chairs in the room would’ve been nice.  The room had a large window to the street, with nice thick curtains, which offered total privacy, and we could not hear the noise from the street.  But there was also another large window to the back patio, which could probably use some thicker curtains for privacy.  There’s a great patio/deck in the back, and an absolutely gorgeous large garden.  There is a coin operated laundry room on the third floor, and a large fridge on the main floor for the use of the guests.  There is also a comfortable sitting room on the main floor.  Our breakfasts on the first and second morning were quite good with coffee, a large selection of teas, sliced bread, bagels, croissants, jam and margarine (butter would’ve been nicer).  There was also a bowl of fresh fruit, milk, juices, and hot & cold cereals.  On the 2nd day there were also boiled eggs. We would stay at Elizabeth Manor again and recommend it.
